  1. That confused me too, every master says that and in reality I realized that by myself and I think that was a big part of why I was in a hospital with big depression, but that's another story. Think of the mind like a crutch. Right now is what supports our ego. We can avoid doing that. The thoughts that are more in alignment with the true self are the ones that can bring enlightenment to you. They are not real, because all thoughts are not real but.... some thoughts are closer to reality and some other thoughts are plain bad. Just try to follow your instincts, when enlightenment comes you will see that there's something inside you that guides you without having to think. You KNOW it's true and you don't need to "THINK" about it. Because you will KNOW, instead of "THINK" about it. That's your true self. At least that's what I discover in my actual level of understanding.
  2. Reality shows can be scary for the true self... I recommend you to create a strong ego!
  3. Watching the Kardashian's was a big help to break through the falsehood of awareness and see reality. I also recommend watching The jersey shore.
  4. @cetus56 I know I am a person, but at an intelectual level. In reality I feel like I am God...
  5. It's like trying to see your own eye, to taste your own tongue or to smell your nose.... I think that's an Alan Watts quote Also bite your own teeth
  6. I follow the ideology of Western society, I only believe in matter and in reality which is made of matter. You can't go against that ideology because is true!
  7. And we live in a country, so we made borders so anyone else can enter here without a proper VISA.
  8. I can tell you mine. First of all I believe everything that people tell me. That I am a person, that I have a name, that I am good at drawing and that I have a daughter and a wife. They say also that I was born and things like that and I believe everything. Hope this helps... :-P
  9. Got it... I think that's what Jesus referred when he said "don't judge". If you don't judge anything as good or bad you will see the true nature of reality. But, religion interpreted that wrongly, like in a judgemental and egotistic way.
  10. So Heaven is living in the now. Or "what is"...
  11. Heaven is Moksha, Nirvana, Satori...
  12. I agree with that... I think it's a bit like the romans, who had some great thinkers like the Stoics but they also were a brutal society with the roman circus and all that wars and killing and ego fights to gain more power.
  13. Once it happened to me that my belly began to shake like crazy Lol... I couldn't stop it. It was as if it was trembling or something, I don't know. I think that it was energy because I was coming from a retreat with a lot of spiritual people. So maybe I took some of the energy of the place, I don't know. That was my conclusion, but I am not sure about what happened... hehehe... When you begin to wake up a lot of stuff like that happens, is like the releasing of bad energy...
  14. @Tony 845It happens to me all the time. It began when I was a teen and it still happens. Right now is pulsating. :-P I will try that too @Nahm
  15. That's correct. The only real thing is the true self = God = Brahman = Reality = etc, etc..... nature... THAT, consciousness, awareness... etc and more etc :-)
  16. Don't overthink! Both are awareness, she is awareness and you too. As I said before, you are talking from both perspectives. Both are true! hehehe... She is an illusion, but you are too... and both are real, because you and her are one.
  17. @Wisebaxter I was confused also about the free will question. I knew I didn't have free will, but it confuses me that I felt that I was the one choosing and doing. My take on that is that we can see it from two perspectives. From the perspective of the individual person, the person "thinks" he is the one choosing, when in fact it is reality who is doing it. But the mind at that moment is not conscious of it. The mind thinks he is the doer, and the body or brain who receive those thoughts thinks that too. But it's not aware that those thoughts are there because of it's actual level of spirituality. It is needed for him to get those thoughts because otherwise it would be too much for the ego to handle. Pay attention that the I am is always there. You know you are. You don't need to "think" that you are, but when the true I is there (and is always there, is presence) the ego-thought says "Oh, I am... it's me who exists"... But it's not him, from the perspective of awareness nothing happens if he is not present. Very hard to explain, because we can't wrap our mind on paradoxes. If we think things are in one way, they can't be in another different one. And that's what awareness is, is the two sides of the coin at the same time. I hope this helps, but It can be very confusing and words are not good to explain it.
