  1. Fuck this is so frustrating, I just wish I had the answer. I suppose I will have to research a lot, and most importantly experiment. Raw veganism sounds convincing to me, but it's not like I deeply understand it or have lots of direct experience yet. It's interesting that even on actualized.org there is nowhere near a clear agreement, some of us are just finding different conclusions. One thing I do have in my direct experience is that when I eat animal products I feel gross, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Before I finally decided to try veganism, I had spent years eating mindfully, and gradually becoming disgusted with how meat & animal products make me feel, and how it tastes. Over the past few months it was so gross, I would just choke it down. When I eat fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and that kind of thing, I enjoy it so much and am filled with gratitude and love, not disgust. I eat a pretty high fat diet, lots of avocados, nuts, seeds, coconut, etc. But overall a lot of every macro nutrient. I feel good with this. I have heard arguments that the macronutrient ratios don't really matter, if you do it right. 80 10 10 can be good but so can 60 20 20 or high fat. Lastly, I notice that I enjoy raw foods more. I eat almost all raw during the day, and cooked food with dinner. This gives me a good contrast. Cooked food just makes me tired and feels harder to digest. I just had a smoothie with soaked peeled raw almonds, coconut, oranges, spinach, banana. I feel great and not tired. I also like hemp protein powder lol.
  2. @pluto Thanks for sharing! I have watched most of Kevin from raw healing mastery's videos, but don't know much else. I recently switched to about 98% vegan, and will soon be fully. My energy levels are well above what they used to be. I notice if I have something like chips fried in oil with guac, or plantains fried in oil, my energy levels plumet to food coma levels, which is cool because I now realize I have very stable energy. So do you not take any supplements? I currently take methyl B12, algae oil, D3, magnesium citrate and zinc gluconate. Edit: Very interesting B12 article. read it all. What book do you reccomend I start with? One of those people you mentioned?
  3. @Shiva That, plus permaculture in either case is way better. The environmental impact of any plant could be bad if it isn't from a sustainable technique. Monoculture is gross.
  4. That depends. @Leo Gura What kind of animal products do you eat? For example, I spent some time just eating animal products that I knew were raised with love, that is, I visited the farms to ensure the cows and chickens were living the life. Do you do something like that? or will you eat an animal product that may have been part of the really naughty animal industry of our society?
  5. Not that I like this guy or his attitude, but he does a good job against the two we mentioned:
  6. I don't gamble with not getting plant spirits
  7. What if I go vegan mostly for selfish reasons?
  8. Idk man, I Bobby is a little better that sv3rige but I don't think those people are valid sources of wisdom or just info.
  9. I don't think so. Green is already over 10% Unless yellow at 10% would make green move up a bunch. What he seemed to be talking about was a yellow version of the green 1960's, or of the orange enlightenment. This is just a rise of solid green.
  10. Stan Grof mentions that as an example of past life trauma in his The Way of the Psychonaut.
  11. haha i just found that video the other day and added it to my watch later
  12. I didn't find the books helpful enough to continue reading
  13. @Calcifer I've used ecovillage.org a lot to research places like that one. There are plenty. With WWOOF you can volunteer at farms in exchange for housing and food. Some cool opportunities for traveling there.
  14. It's now been about a month since I got a cough. It started as a cough, and there have been two 4 day ish periods where I had a stuffy nose too. It isn't too bad, but it still very concerning. I suppose I could have bronchitis, i don't know what else. I have been thinking about going to the doctor, but I'm worried they'll just give me antibiotics. How long should I wait before going? apparently bronchitis can cause coughs lasting over 2 months. Most importantly, does anyone know what I can do to get back to wellness naturally?
  15. Wow! How serendipitous. I have been thinking about taking one, and have just reached the point where I am most likely going to take one. My plan: -Figure out if I want to college -Volunteer in permaculture ecovillages for around 8 months (this is a small bet for my Life purpose) -Go on lots of meditation retreats -try to make money online -research and reading
  16. I am 18(as of yesterday) I take no medications. It is pretty dry. Occasionally green and yellowish mucus has come out, but only a few times. I have had only a few painful coughing fits. The coughs are usually pretty not intense, it can happen anywhere from 5 to 50 times a day. Weed once every few months. I'm taking B12 daily. I use humidifiers. THis seems to be not from air conditions but I don't know. None other than the cough. I guess I just assumed it was disease in and of itself, thanks for that. Taking Host Defense which has some of those mushrooms.
  17. I did take about 2 weeks that were very relaxing over the holidays. I never really do too bad with stress. Meditation keeps me very calm. Well said. Will go in a week if I'm not better. Yes I have recently, but only about 10 days ago really, so after I had already been sick. None of the following had any noticable affect. I did a fast for two days a week ago. In the past 1 or two weeks I have been transitioning into veganism. I have been vegan fully for like 4 or 5 days. The thing about the doctor and antibiotics is that my parents may urge me to take them if the doc says I should. Although really I have full control so that's a rubbish excuse. I get a solid 8-9 hours sleep every single night. I have been made sure I am getting enough vitamin c from food, and I have taken a few supplements. Not that kind though. Also, I have been using Paul Stamets Host Defense since christmas.
  18. @Calcifer Thanks for sharing! Have you considered anything like this? This youtube channel has been very helpful for me. Already am taking those. I think I will get bloodwork soon and then after 6 months or something, to compare, although I do eat very healthy right now and have animal products only a few times in the past 2 weeks. I didn't plan on going to the doctor for it. I'd rather do it on my own. As of 2014 you can get your bloodwork done on your own, such as through personal labs. Maybe I should go to the doctor for it though.
  19. @herghly It was cool, although I don't feel like I learned much that I didn't get from his book. We went over the topics from it and he answered questions. The best part was probably meeting other psychonauts and people interested in this stuff, something that I've never done before.
  20. I was recently reading Stan Grof's new book and I decided to google and see if there were any local psychedelic societies in Minneapolis. It turns out their is one with 900 people. I requested to join and just got allowed in. I looked at their events and they have a bunch of cool things, meditation, yoga, swimming in icey lakes like Wim Hof events, and on January 10th and 11th, Christopher Bache is coming to hold a talk and then an all day workshop. I am going to the talk, which is 10 dollars, and might go to the workshop, which is 90 dollars. For those who don't know, Christopher Bache wrote the recent LSD and the mind of the universe, which I've seen talked about on the forum. This is so cool! I'll get to meet him!
  21. Wow, just read like half this thread, thinking it was new. Was a radical recontectualization to realize so much that I thought was new to this place was already very here 3-4 years ago, like 5meo and epistemology Edit: the audio is absolutely chilling fuck dude
  22. I love Omad, I just take nootropics in the evening with it. However, when I do that I just take huperzine a, L Theanine, and lions mane mushroom. Unfortunately I can't maintain my weight with OMAD so i'm back to intermittent fasting. This makes it easy. Let us know how this work
  23. Also, Christopher Bache in his LSD and the Mind of the Universe says so much in common with Leo, he talks about healing the collective with psychedelics, accessing esoteric abilities, etc.
  24. Thank you all so much. I am so grateful. I am supplementing those 3 currently! Also magnesium and zinc. Would you recommend bloodwork for those other deficiency possibilities? I could get it done easily. Personallabs.com is 115 dollars for comprehensive bloodwork. @Calcifer THank you greatly. I will watch all those videos. Funnily enough I am interested in understanding raw veganism too so thanks. Looks good, added to my prospective reads list. What!
  25. I went, it was so cool. People were talking about spiral dynamics and Ken Wilber. Met a bunch of people
