  1. Tony Robbins is great. and the people out there hating on him are lame. The only thing I've bought by Tony Robbins is Awaken the Giant within which is like a $16 dollar book and I have benefitted so much from his work. Free videos on YouTube, audio CDs on my streaming services, and high quality models and exercises from his books. So of course I don't see him as a scam artist because I have invested so little and I have gained so much from his presence in the world.
  2. Weed won't matter, they are very different substances. Both are great for introspection. I do NOT recommend smoking and tripping at the same time unless you want to enter a state of insanity.
  3. If you really want the answer to this question, I'd recommend learning of Joseph Campbell and his talks on Mythology. To me, religion is a very important because it is grounded in tradition which speaks to its ability to stay true over time, or they are paths that ultimately work because they've been tried over the years. I'd consider myself a Catholic. It's how I was raised, it's the model that makes sense to me, and it's got all the practices I need to reach heaven/nirvana. There is also significant beauty in religion. If you stare at Catholic church or mosques, you can find exquisite visual beauty that is unmatched and sounds bring you stillness and vulnerability.
  4. Yeah man, I agree. Meat is necessary to grow healthy and these are children.
  5. When I first saw Bo Burnham special "What." on Netflix. I was legit blown away and amazed that someone can perform that way. I instantly saw a second time because of how good it was and recommended it to everyone in my circle.
  6. But dude, don't you care about your community? Don't you recognize the nuanced conditions that people have that makes them more likely to die? What about the long-term effects that some people face? What about the individuals young and old who don't overcome the symptoms in three days?
  7. For me, it was exhausting all the ideas I had about reality which led me to a breakthrough as I realized, I could not conceptualize it which allowed me to really just be present. I've also stared at myself in the mirror for periods and just get swayed into a sense of pure awareness, where all the content of sense was happening in. If you are genuinely interested in truth, nature, or reality, it will come naturally as it did for me.
  8. A permanent union with reality.
  9. Simply speaking its just basking in the mystery that is being alive. Mysticism comes from the world Mystery.
  10. I respect it significantly because of its history of followers, the rich wisdom in the Quran, and their practices. However, I am still learning about Islam, and I don't really have a strong conclusion about it. There is a lot that concerns me such as Muhammad's choices, the wars, and intolerance. Pretty much all the stuff brought up by Sam Harris, which I haven't delved into deeply, so I don't want to judge it negatively without a wholesome understanding. For now its a respectable religion in my eyes.
  11. I don't think he is woke at all. But I guess it depends on what you mean by woke. He is certainly going against the tides, but he doesn't look free or at peace.
  12. Ultimately, I think you will get, what you put in. I am right in the middle of the Life Purpose Course and there is a lot to contemplate, material to read, and do; if you are not already meditating and journaling consistently. Figuring out your life purpose could take you as long as the course, months, or years. I think it depends on your level of development and authenticity, and genuinely doing the exercises and contemplation. Even if you didn't figure out your life purpose, Leo does an excellent job of creating enthusiasm and a sense of urgency, to do so. Practically speaking - As I do the course, I feel more motivated, focused, solidifying my direction in life, facing fears, and I am learning how to judge what's really important. So I appreciate the course!
  13. I don't really have anybody close to me to speak to on self-actualization, consciousness, enlightenment, self-improvement, psychedelics, non-duality, religion, mysticism, and more. Most of my friends shrug at these topics and have surface opinions about it. I am thankful for Leo Gura's forum because sometimes I feel alone on the journey and I want to feel more connected with others who are doing the same, so I believe I have a healthy relationship with the forum.
  14. @StarStruck I don't agree with the vegan diet either. Although I am not sure why you are triggered by other's choices though, only you can know. There is some truth to what @Emerald said about people being triggered by vegans because vegans will make them think about their choices. However, you cannot discount the amount of people who have tried a vegan diet and experienced health issues. So they are valid in criticizing the vegan diet. The way social media is set up, it is very easy to believe vegan diets are optimal for human health. Unfortunately, vegans care about animals not their health; so their goal is not maximize health more so as it is to protect the animal.
  15. Because God is one, he is everything and more. So he's not separated from you or your body because you are God's creation, so therefore you are God. That's just the rational explanation though. It does not mean your ego is God. If you wanted to embody God's character, you'd have to die.
  16. @Nahm Would you say all tendency to judge roots from lack of self-acceptance or is this in just some cases, in your experience?
  17. You have to 'transmute' the energy elsewhere and also begin to enjoy being horny without compulsively choosing to masturbate your seed away. Someways to transmute it is working out, stretching, and breathing to bring the energy from your pelvis to your whole body. So that's how to do it experientially. Then you have to become a principled character that identifies with strong values. If you do, you will be able to overcome any feeling or mood because you will have bigger purpose. So contemplate on that and write out your values, higher purpose, and reasoning behind the choices you make. That's an identity component. Lastly, do not victimize yourself in your head. re-frame all behaviors and attitudes as a choice that you make. Practice noticing you have a response-ability to all stimulus in your life. That's the mental component.
  18. Yeah, no doubt it exists.
  19. The Alchemist Siddhartha Of Mice and Men Harry Potter
  20. Look into organ meats and homemade chicken broth. In my culture (Portugal), we make chicken noodle soup with organ meats from the chicken, so chicken liver, kidneys, and heart. They're delicious and packed with nutrients; although it could be an acquired taste if you are not used to it. In addition, chicken broth has nutrients like collagen and support immunity.
  21. I just got mine Ladies and Gentlemen! I got the Moderna. Feels good!
  22. What do you think actually happens after enlightenment? “Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.” If a person gets enlightened, in one moment, they experience eternity, they become one, and then ZOOM right back into the nature of the body to continue experiencing the world as a part of the whole. You already are the whole and the part. so my questions for you is what do you think happens to someone when the part realizes it is whole? What behavior do you imagine they carry out? Are we supposed to go brain dead and just lay in cave somewhere? for what purpose? if the part is already whole, then the playing the part is being whole.
  23. Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ is the most balanced humble teacher I know. The words in the gospel, ring deeply true in my inner being, it is so clean and pure, and more wise than all gurus I've learned about. there's no judgment. no rant, it's non-dual, and psychedelic. It is simple and graceful, yet firm like the being of God. It is also possible he was a shaman if you believe in the gospel of Thomas and the findings of Psychedelic Gospel. edit: I agree with @Forestluv & @oMarcos. There are too many enlightened beings and they all become one in the end, so creating a separation is just more ego games. Jesus Christ is just my preferred form. I have been just as lifted by the words of Rumi, Ibn Arabi, St. Francis of Assisi, Leo Gura, Osho, The Beatles, and more. It all comes from the same place.
  24. that's what they all say. You will just have to go deeper in your interpersonal discussion of Truth if they are willing, or else it will just be a model/belief battle ground. I have been attacked for quoting saints, man because it's not biblical. People who actually followed Jesus and devoted their life to God. I just let it go and recognize everyone is on their own path, and it all leads to the same place.
  25. You're speaking to individuals who have adopted an ideology first before having a mystical experience. In my experience, If you're trying to get on common ground, you'd have to speak their language. " Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." - 1 John 4:7-21 I agree with you, by the way. You are speaking of the perennial philosophy.
