If her rape stories are true and she has BPD, then she's actually doing surprisingly well. Could be much worse. You have to set your expectations based on someone's upbringing. She could have turned into a serial killer, you know. Someone with a really bad childhood needs to be cut some slack because their brain is forever wired differently.
