  1. The clearest way to get a feel for what raising of consciousness is like, is by taking a psychedelic. Within 30 minutes you experience your consciousness raised to ungodly levels. It's quite astouding. You'll struggle to believe it even as it is happening to you. You can literally become conscious of how existence came into being and why it exists, for example. A more conventional way to feel a rise in consciousness is to compare yourself when you're foggy or horny or sleepy versus when you're sober and clear-minded. It's a pretty big difference.
  2. @NoSelfSelf As opposed to a fake temple?
  3. @Mighty Mouse Sure But stunting growth is a tricky issue. Growth isn't always linear, and maximum truth doesn't always grow people as might be expected. The wrong pace of growth will backfire and lead to regression or stunting. Skipping stages often backfires. A crack addict is not ready to hear about Enlightenment. The Spiral Dynamics stages are a useful model. Not Absolute Truth. And it's important for people not get ahead of themselves. Seeing a stage Turquoise person face to face can be an important step towards ultimately realizing the Absolute. It's a motivational thing more than anything. It's inspiring. It shows you who you can become, and what the possibilities are. Of course all models have their limitations and will ultimately be abandoned after they've served their purpose.
  4. Sure, you can acclimate to anything: being a billionaire, or being in a concentration camp, or meeting Jesus.
  5. It really helps to meet a Turquoise person face to face. It's a rather inspiring thing. Most people have never met such a person and don't even know such a person is possible. Imagine, if you will, that you met Jesus face to face. That's what it's sorta like. Their presence alone awes you. And don't confuse Spiral Dynamics stages with enlightenment. Spiral Dynamics isn't mapping out a path towards enlightenment. It's measuring other aspects of growth.
  6. Pick any topic of human endeavor, and you can become much more conscious of it. For example: politics, mathematics, science, language, nutrition, ecology, business, finances, animals, government, design, architecture, agriculture, history, culture, religion, dating, family, education, etc, etc. You could design and build your own conscious house, for example. Probably a good idea for a conscious person to live in a conscious dwelling. You could even design your own conscious city! I once had a coaching client who's dream was to build an underwater city. There is no end to it. It's infinite! When it comes to consciousness of your own mind, there will still be plenty to become conscious of there. Emotions are so tricky, it will take you 40 years of practice to become fully conscious of them. And then there is the realm of spiritual powers like astral projection and paranormal stuff, which is a very deep rabbit hole. Sadhguru built and consecrated his own temple! It nearly killed him. So there is much to do!
  7. When I was serious about it, I was doing 20 approaches per night. The most I did was 700 approaches in one month. It took me 450 approaches to get my first girl. Of course it's not just about quantity. Quality of approach matters A LOT. But for newbies, sheer quantity is needed to build up the quality, cause a newbie doesn't know what quality means yet. The whoke key to pickup is you gotta find a place where you can quickly make 20 approaches per night/day. And you can only do that in very specific areas, like a big nightclub, or downtown area, or giant shopping mall, or busy beach. Best places are: NYC LA Venice Beach Santa Monica Miami Austin Vegas London Etc.
  8. @Moreira Personal Dev, Consciousness, Growth, Truth, Learning, Health, Reading Books, etc. -- these are all values. Some people value them, some don't. People who are into self-actualization should seek out relationships with other people who are also into self-actualization. Otherwise, you two will quickly grow apart. This doesn't mean the person has to share all of your values, but there needs to be at least like 50% alignment on the most important ones. You can't be a self-actualizer who dates a fundamentalist Mormon. It's not going to work. The freedom and honesty that comes from self-actualization will disturb the Mormon too much. Fundamentally, you want to find a person who's into growing themselves and values health over dysfunction. That can be hard to find. But that's what a self-actualizer needs. Start hanging around yoga classes or Wholefoods, where such people congregate
  9. Meditation as a form of relaxation from stress can certainly be a distraction becuase the real problems aren't being consciously explored, but merely molified with a pleasant, serene state. Mechanical meditation can also be a distraction. But that is not serious meditation. That is sorta like Western yoga classes. They have been defanged. Real meditation is just being highly conscious of everything in the present moment, which helps a lot with enlightenment, cause how else are you gonna have a deep insight??? You gotta put awareness on it. Of course the devil will try to co-opt meditation to serve his devilish ways. But if you meditate well, you should be able to catch that.
  10. The problem would be: a disconnect in values. You can't be in an effective relationship with someone when your values are totally different. And the deeper question is: Why would you want to be in a relationship with someone who's not into your values? That would be sort of like wearing a shoe that doesn't fit. It might work for a while, but not in the long run.
  11. Fear Technology!™ It's good if you're having difficulty approaching.
  12. @Hardkill You're not approaching nearly enough. If you want to get good at pickup -- for a hard case newbie like yourself -- you're looking a 5,000-10,000 approaches. Move to a BIG city and start approaching for real. Get some good wing men who will keep you company and keep you motivated. If you're talking about terminal cancer, then you should be prepared to work your butt off to cure it. The good news is, you can make massive progressive with massive action. The problem is, so far, your action-taking hasn't been massive enough.
  13. Well, the good news is, there is no boundary between you and your Mom. So you can give yourself the love you want from her, because it's all coming from exactly the same source: YOU! -- the only source there is. https://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-love-yourself It's very useful to stop thinking of love as something you get, but something you give.
  14. That post was me looking at my wristband and being as non-critical as I get I actually shot a video for the blog about this topic last week which I haven't posted yet.
  15. @SuperLuigi You're in the right place. Actualized.org is made by INTPs for INTPs. Which means it will make you even more stuck in thought
  16. @Joseph Maynor Good stuff. Described me perfectly. I guess I'm not as special as I like to believe
  17. Good share. Shows how that guy's lack of nondual study and proper context lead to a failure to integrate his experience as deeply as he could. I wish more people who tripped studied nonduality and contemplated existence. It would make things so much easier for them. Notice how the materialist paradigm is visible through his trip report, i.e., "the brain". It's not allowing him to fully grasp what was being show. This is the problem of naive people doing psychedelics. They get in over their heads and never really understand what they experienced.
  18. @phoenix666 Everything is so infinitely complex, it becomes simple. But not really.
  19. @Sopot Seeing as how you're from the Philippines, I can empathize with the big currency gap. $250 is like 2 weeks salary over there.
  20. @Sopot Thing is... if you're not resourceful enough to scrap together $250, you might as well not bother taking the course, because you certainly won't be resourceful enough to actualize what's inside it. You are not going to get far in life if you expect people to give you special treatment. This work requires extreme responsibility-taking. A person who takes extreme responsibility doesn't ask for hand outs. She brainstorms solutions and gets to work. I already give you guys 90%+ of my best work for free. I really give you guys too much. It makes people spoiled. I have personally paid tens of thousands of dollars for this information. So I am unmoved when someone complains about $250. People spend that much on video games and soda per year.
  21. Yes, precisely. That's called self-actualization. Simplicity is often times the hardest, most advanced thing to pull off, requiring a journey to get there.
  22. Just don't swing the pendulum too far in the opposite end. The distinctions you make still matter very much. To be effective in the world is to make finer and more accurate distinctions than other people make. An expert is someone who has a collection of really good distinctions in a particular field. In this work you must learn to both destroy all distinctions, and make a ton of highly accurate and useful distinctions, all at the same time. The mind is like a horse. It needs to be properly reigned in and tamed, then it is good. Living without mind is not an option. So your only options are to learn to use it well, or not.
  23. @Nathan I like eating bacon and getting my balls fondled by a hot lady. It feels right. But a life purpose this does not make. What do you want to CREATE FOR THE WORLD???
  24. @SaltyMeatballs Don't confuse growth as a human being with LP. Yes, of course every human being's job is personal development. That's the whole game of life in a nutshell. But LP is not that. LP is about your career and your creative output. Regardless of whatever LP you end up having, personal growth will still be part of your function as a living being. So don't worry about that. You can, and must, do both. You need to rephrase the question to this: What creative contribution do I want to make to the world? Notice, your own personal growth is not that. That's for you. But what are you doing for others??? Flipping burgers at McDonalds? That's the default you will get if you don't figure this out.
