Leo Gura replied to Liam Johnson's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Sevi I don't remember how he calls it. Email and ask him. Tell him you specifically want to do dyad work. The interview was not supposed to be released. Please don't share it here. -

A) Self-inquiry isn't really about thinking. The thinking portion of it is mostly to get the mind looking silently in the right direction. Advanced forms of self-inquiry involve no thinking, or very little thinking. B) It actually IS possible to think your way into enlightenment. The way that works is, you think until the mind suddenly thinks a thought which sends into an unexpected tailspin straight into The Void. Sort of like when you're talking to a friend about something and then you suddenly realize you left your kitchen stove on. You get this shocking "Oh fuck!!!" moment. C) Thinking can also exhaust itself. After lots of thinking, the mind gets tired and surrenders to non-thinking. D) As you get better at self-inquiry, it will start to look more and more like meditation, and vice versa. -

If you don't desire to know the truth, then even God cannot help you. You have been shown the path to Goodness, but you insist on being evil. So be it. -

@egoless You don't have to be enlightened to see that evil is a conceptual fabrication. I realized that when I was like 12 years old. Just think about it and it's quite obvious. Evil is just whatever you point to and say "evil". Stop sitting on your ass, and start contemplating. You can grasp this point in one day's work. Just be openminded and be willing to drop your ideological positions. All you have to do is sit down in silence and ask yourself, "Okay, what is this thing I call evil? What is it actually?" -

Yes, you can do dyads, which are very powerful. See Peter Ralston's workshops for that. And he has his ENB workshop in digital form specifically for dyad work. It's pricey but worth it if you're serious. Or you can go to an Enlightenment Intensive (EI) around the world, which are all 100% dyads, all day long. -

No, you're still stuck on this whole notion of "being a good person." This is an illusion. Just because you have deep compassion, doesn't mean you won't harm anyone. Life works on death. You cannot live without killing and harming millions of things. It is IMPOSSIBLE! For you to exist means someone else doesn't exist, just by the very fact that you are you and not them! The only true solution here is to accept death. And then see what results. The paradox is: in trying to be a good person, you actually commit evil. In stopping trying to be good, you obliterate evil and live happily ever after. Not because you cause no harm, or defeat all the evil people in the world, but because you realize that "evil" was just a projection of your mind, and in defeating yourself, you have finally stopped projecting it, thus eliminating all the evil in the world in one fell swoop. But rape still happens. It's just no longer evil any more. In the same way that if a fly lands on your arm, you take no personal offense. You don't call the fly names. You don't call it evil. You don't get angry at it. You don't wage a war against it. You just admire it for what it is: a curious little fly sitting on your arm. How can it harm you if you already don't exist? -

When you're conscious, you are more apt to see how your actions create needless suffering in others. And you have a deep compassion for everything, because you understand why ignorance exists and how challenging it is to cure. Nonetheless, you don't see anything as bad or wrong. Reality is 100% perfect. All the rapists and things which you presently see a problems to be eliminated, you will understand are absolutely integral to the functioning of this reality, and couldn't be any other way. Reality is so absolutely PERFECT, you will not understand it until you wake up. -
Bro, that was exactly me. I was a super-logical IT-like guy (I still am for the most part). But pickup will correct that in you. That's the whole point! With practice, you will learn to let loose, have more fun, be more jokey, more emotional, more irrational, more like a girl. As Adam Lyon's said it best: "All pickup does is make you more into a girl." And you won't lose your rationality either. You will be able to flip it on and off like faucet. Rational here, irrational there, as the situation demands.

@Pelin There are plenty of teachers sharing and demonstrating high consciousness. Go pay them a visit in person or on YouTube. They will be happy to see you. Most of them are starving for eyeballs and barely paying their bills. Why try to get blood from a stone when it's flowing freely over there?
-
@Shiva Yes, we ultimately want to raise the entire herd with us. But when you're starting off, it does feel nice for the ego to see itself doing relatively better than others. And also, it's good to rise above the mediocrity and low consciousness which the herd represents. If not for that -- if all the chimps were rising above you -- higher consciousness would have no hope at all. You are humanity's last hope before we kill ourselves We also do care that we don't suffer and fall prey to the stupidities of the herd. For example, it's nice to know that you don't get drunk every weekend and suffer a hangover like all your friend do. It shows you that you're doing something right and that your wisdom is paying off. Otherwise you might get discouraged and join the debauchery. You can take a little bit of pride in that. Although of course it would be a trap to get cocky about it.
-
@beastmode 99% of people in society are mediocrity zombies. So the percentage of people excelling in anything -- let alone consciousness (the hardest thing to excel at) -- is of course super low, but that doesn't say much. The bar is set very low at this point in human civilization. Which is good news for you in a way. It's easy to rise above the herd with a bit of wisdom, intelligence, and heart.

@egoless I know it's frustrating. This stuff is very tricky to understand conceptually. It must be directly experienced. Self-inquiry Or, 5-MeO does the trick nicely in 15 minutes flat P.S. Now you can appreciate why Zen master's speak in riddles and infuriate their students. They're not just being assholes, although some of them are -

Once you're dead, there are no problems. Yes, the ego will fight this process every inch of the way, kicking and screaming like a stubborn mule. Then the second after it dies, you will experience Nirvana, and exclaim, "OMFG! Why was I so stupid!!!!! And you will laugh and laugh. Death?? Death?? Ahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" But until then, you will take death deadly serious, because hey, that's what keeps you alive -
Leo Gura replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@egoless Yes, I asked him. And then I died and became God. And that is all that can be said about that. -
Leo Gura replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@egoless Absolute is Absolute. You will not understand that until you encounter the Absolute yourself. By all means, don't take my word for it. You must discover all this for yourself. I am just giving you a push in the right direction. None of this is to be taken as a belief system. Reality IS a delusion within a delusion within a delusion -- to infinity! That's what enlightenment means! It covers absolutely everything possible. You literally become conscious of everything that could possibly be. You become God. Your consciousness becomes so total, nothing else remains. -
Leo Gura replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Of course it feels damn wrong to the ego. You're not grasping that we are talking about a radically different mode of living here. After enlightenment, life as you know it is gone. Reality has literally ceased to exist, you are dead inside. Like REALLY! Imagine that! You are a zombie inside and you will NEVER return to the old you! Someone could rape you, and you wouldn't care, because you've already died! Try to imagine that radical of a transformation. Imagine yourself not being human any more, but still appearing human to others from the outside. They will think you're a human, but you will know you're not. I have done it before, and I will do it again. There is nothing better than death. We are dealing with highly counter-intuitive stuff here. It utterly boggles the mind. It is totally unbelievable until you arrive there. It's such a deep mindfuck, the realization of it alone is enough to kill you. P.S. They are two separate things, but once you've become it, you have no more need to judge it. The judging is what you do to distract from becoming it. The sooner your stop judging, the sooner you will become it. -
Leo Gura replied to phoenix666's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@phoenix666 Because it will literally kill you! This ain't no joke! This isn't some cute Ekhart Tolle teaching on Oprah. Your entire existence is at stake here!!! You are like a shark, which can only live so long as it's moving forward. The trick is to realize that you're better off dead. And then actually make it happen. What comes natural to you is self-survival. Which is why you're here in the first place. When you exist as a lie, the truth (the present moment) is your greatest enemy, because it means your death. You have to realize this. You have no material substance of which you are made. You exist as a mental fabrication, an optical illusion. So your only way of surviving is to not look at this illusion closely. Which, BTW, is why you keeping stalling to do self-inquiry. You look for less direct methods, because you REALLY don't want a direct method to your death. You want to play spiritual games instead. You don't actually want enlightenment! You just want the IDEA of enlightenment, but not the real thing. No ego does, because the point of ego is to be a wall from enlightenment. -
Leo Gura replied to egoless's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Lol Enlightenment explains evil perfectly. It's the simplest thing possible: evil doesn't exist! The problem is, the ego doesn't want to accept that. Because the ego feels threatened by things like murder, rape, and theft. The ego's job is to be biased, to favor itself at all costs. So this notion that rape isn't evil offends you. Because you don't like the idea of absolute freedom. It's literally too much freedom for you to handle. It's so free, it will kill you. So you want to constrict infinity to a manageable, finite size which your mind and psyche can easily handle. The cost of that, however, is that you are very easily disturbed and you suffer. As soon as reality goes against you, you cry and shout and get angry. That's because you refused to surrender to the fact that your very life is worthless and meaningless in the big picture. The whole point of your life might be to be a cum receptacle for a rapist, or fuel for Hitler's ovens. But of course you don't like that idea. It's too REAL. Yet nonetheless, no matter how much you resist all this, the fact remains that reality has all these freedoms. There is a real possibility that one day you will get raped or thrown into an oven. And even if you don't, no matter what, you will die. So you will lose this ego-game you're playing no matter what! The only question is, will you resist the freedom of reality or accept it? Of course there is nothing wrong, bad, or evil about ego. You can be selfish if you want. Reality doesn't care if you remain lost in untruth, or rape a horse. To reality, there is no preference for one thing over another. From the enlightened perspective, ego isn't bad or evil. Ego is confusion of the mind. And there is also nothing bad or evil about confusion. Of course! You are one with all the rapists who ever lived, and ever will live. They are literally you, and you are literally them! Which is why judgment of people is pointless and delusional. Jesus told you to love people, and not to judge them, for this very reason. He wasn't telling you to be cute or lovey-dovey, or "a nice person" so that Saint Peter could let you into the gates of Heaven. He was telling you to surrender all of your attachments to self, until the point where someone could nail you to cross, and you would be happy about it, because whatever happens to your body doesn't matter. It's not you, and it will die anyways. Enlightenment literally means: self-less-ness. No self, no evil, no resistance, no problem. vs. Self, evil, resistance, suffering << the way you live now. Heaven is not a place you get to for being "a good person". Heaven is just the state of being without a self. This is True Religion. Mainstream religion corrupts this truth because it's too unpalatable. The whole point of culture is to serve the ego's self-biases. So a truth like this cannot be transmitted uncorrupted through mainstream culture. -

@MM1988 You need to go approach more girls and develop some skill in this area. They aren't giving you signals because you are not attracting them with your personality, because you're probably like the typical IT guy. You need to learn how to push a girl's buttons a bit to get her attracted to you. That's called hitting the hook-point. It's hard to do at first if you're very socially awkward. I had to approach 450+ girls before I got one to sleep with me. That's how things go when you suck with girls. But you keep learning and you get much better. Pickup didn't work for you because you didn't really make a serious investment in it. Imagine how cool it would be get a hot girlfriend, and to feel confident around girls? Isn't that worth some effort? Time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. It sure beats being depressed and wasting your time moping on this forum. Think about it. Pickup can be a lot of fun too. It's not like punching keys on a computer all day... oh wait... bad analogy

@Key Elements Of course it has consequences. That is another matter. The reality is that human beings are horny creatures. To pretend otherwise actually makes the horniness more dangerous, not less.

Leo Gura replied to Spider Jerusalem's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Spider Jerusalem Well of course the point of seeking to get to non-seeking. All goals work that way. Nothing paradoxical about it. You seek lunch. You eat lunch. You stop seeking lunch. Tada! Magic! At least until you realize that there's more than one enlightenment to be had, and more things to realize than just enlightenment! Such is life. You're doing shit until you're dead no matter what. The only question is, what are you doing and are you enjoying it? You're right though, enlightenment isn't an object or a destination. It's here right now! There is no difference between enlightenment and non-enlightenment. Everything is enlightenment all the time, 24/7, forever. So seeking it is a bit silly, because every step you take is one step too far. And yet nonetheless, if you don't take that step, you'll never realize it. That is the delicious paradox of it. -
No, of course not. Each person has various karma to burn through. Some don't need sex at all. Some are sex fiends who have sex till their dead from it and never even get to starting meditation. Most people are somewhere in the middle. It's rare that a person can go straight to celibacy. That's either extremely rare, or it's done as a kind of neurotic suppression which tends to backfire, as in the case of many Catholic priests and Buddhist monks who end up molesting children. True spiritual celibacy is possible, but it requires not suppression but very high degrees of personal development and spiritual purification work, which is best done after you get your basic sexual needs met (and also being older) You don't do that as a stopgap measure. Many celibate yogis are only celibate in their later years (40s, 50s, 60s) after their hormones have subsided and they have already had much of sex. For example, Gandhi was celibate, but not before he banged his wife's brains out for years In his autobiography he talks about how much he craved his wife in the early days. Gandhi was as horny as your average teenager.
