It's a really good video. Good food for thought. But also I think he just expected too much of Ken Wilber. Wilber's theories are obviously not going to solve of mankind's political problems. That was never going to be possible. And Wilber's claims of intelligent design are correct, despite the denials from the scientific establishment. Evolution is intelligent. You can discover this for yourself at ridiculously high levels of consciousness. Doesn't sound like Mark Manson has had direct nondual experiences. Or maybe just little glimpses. And OF COURSE enlightenment != moral perfection or emotional mastery. We have talked about this issue to death. Enlightened people can become corrupt and make mistakes.

@Leo-Tzu In the videos I linked in the blog post, they tell you how many cenimeters per year the Earth is supposed to be growing. It's like 10 cm or something similar. And the rate of growth is accelerating. Some of those in-depth videos I linked go into a lot of detail about the mechanics of how this might work, and address all the common objections. Of course that doesn't mean they are right, but it at least shows that the theory has some legs and can stand up to skeptics.

The Earth could be growing from the inside out by some kind of physical, subatomic process. Accumulation of particles from the outside would not account for Earth's growth. If it is growing at all, it's growing from the inside. This actually helps to explain why the Earth's atmosphere keeps from being eroded by solar wind: the atmosphere gets replenished by gasses escaping the core.

Well, they are supposed to accrete during the formation of the solar system. That's fairly plausible.

Indeed, it's a very radical hypothesis which would undermine much of existing geology and science. Which would explain why serious scientists would not take it seriously (paradigm lock). The idea is that all planets manufacture their own mass! Somehow... Or, it's an expanding hollow-ish sphere with constant mass. Regardless, if the Earth is increasing in radius at all (whether growing or expanding) there needs to be fairly significant mechanism at work at the core which is as yet unknown. Why would a constant-mass object expand?

@Outer That's fine. You should be skeptical. It's a crazy theory, if true. I am all for putting the theory to the test.

@Outer Yes, I heard the oxygen theory too. But it doesn't seem plausible to me. There seems to be a larger bio-mechanical issue. A two foot dragonfly will not fly, even with more oxygen in the atmosphere. At least that's my guess. Try to imagine a dragonfly with a wingspan of two feet!

Obviously mass of the Earth would be much less. The claim is that the mass of the Earth is growing. The other possibility is that the Earth's center of mass is towards the surface more than to its center, such that expanding radius would lessen gravity. This is the hollow sphere model, which means the Earth's core might be something like light plasma vs a dense iron core.

@AMS Awesome work! Sounds like fun I'm pretty sure this is how our ancestors, like the ancient Egyptian preists might have done it, but for much longer periods of time. Imagine spending a whole year inside a locked tomb. You will get some crazy spiritual insights that way. It's the simplest spiritual technology imaginable.

Take a large enough dose that you have no choice All fear is fear of ego-death. There is no exception. All fear is illusion. But you won't know that until you're dead Mushrooms probably not the best substance for you if you're the fearful sort. AL-LAD or LSD would be better. 5-MeO would be great so you can get the ego-death out of the way in 5 minutes and enjoy life without ego for a while. The only way to really beat fear is to face it. By not facing it you reinforce its reality. But easier daid than done. So take it at your own pace. 1.5g of mushrooms shouldn't be scary at all. They are quite fun at that dose. But if you go into it expecting the worst, you might get it. You gotta always do psychedelics in a chipper mood. If you feeling bad, don't do them till you feel good. Learn how to control your state and pump yourself up a bit.

@SeanD Lopsided development is common. Yes, these days you can get indoctrinated into Green without properly integrating Orange or Blue. You gotta find the holes in your development and fill them. If you're lacking in Orange, starting your own biz is one of the best ways I know how to fix that. You will grow enormously and learn just how necessary and important Orange values are.

A very common problem for Green. Green becomes so self-righteous it's unable to see the absolute necessity of all the lower stages. Best solution would be to hand Green a gift of a Spiral Dynamics book. Just reading the book can be enough to awaken Green into Yellow. Or at least early stages of Yellow. Those people have failed to fully integrate Blue and Orange. They sorta skiped over it to arrive at Green faster, but it's a flimsy and dysfunctional Green now for that reason.

It is the nature of Blue consciousness that it cannot fathom or admit of unity between man and God. Blue views God as a supreme authority figure, which must be situated at the top of a heirarchy. So Blue cannot fathom how man and God are identical. Blue cannot fathom paradox or the notion of strangeloops (tangled-hierarchies). So of course most Muslims will deny that man is God. Because they are practing Islam in an absolutist, ideological, Blue form. Islam at higher colors has no problem with this. Blue cannot fathom nonduality or mysticism. Not even intellectually, let alone experientially. This is not exclusive to Islam. Blue Christians and Blue Buddhists also cannot fathom how they can be Christ or Buddha. Blue sees such talk as blasphemy, disrespect of authority. But in truth, the only authority is God, and you are it. So you are just worshipping yourself

Consciousness happens most when you are in a relaxed state. Hence, do nothing. But there is a big difference between doing do-nothing, and actually doing nothing. Doing do-nothing is still a doing. Hence you can be more conscious when you stop trying to meditate. But if you are trying to stop meditating, that is a new doing. You must not try to not try
