Basically most libertarians believe taxation is theft and regulation is evil.

Christmas came early this year for Sam Seder:

It's pretty absurd to ask for someone else to tell you how to think for yourself. But if you must act so absurdly, I have videos on Contemplation, How To Contemplate Using A Journal, and The Power Of Asking Questions. What more do you need to know?

@DrewNows You're not getting it. You're not conscious that love is an Absolute. No amount of talk or excuses is going to overcome this basic omission. I am communicating a thing which you are refusing to understand because you assume it cannot be true. But you are simply wrong. Nothing personal. The mind is just a tricky beast. I am here to guide you towards realizing Love, no matter how much you deny it. -

Of course I can't crawl inside his head and know with 100% accuracy how he uses the word love. But Love is not a trap. To reduce it to that is a grave error. People can fall victim to all sorts of traps in this work. There are many "truth traps", but that doesn't keep him from using the word Truth in reference to the Absolute. Everyone doing this work starts with their own flawed ideas about what Truth, Love, God, Self, and Consciousness are. That's all par for the course. That doesn't mean we stop using those words. We need some words to speak of such facets. Those words are as good as we'll get. The error is not in the words but in the ego-minds who can't help but misunderstand them. Love = Truth = Being = Consciousness There is only one substance of which the entire universe is made. That stuff is Love. It is problematic that Ralston's work (his books) do not use the word "Love" basically at all. From my POV, that's a very serious omission. That would be like writing a cookbook that never mentions the word "salt". -
I think Trump is weak.

@CreamCat Bullies are everywhere in governments and businesses. They just aren't recognized as such because their behavior is normalized by various social norms. If there wasn't a strong government (as the Libertarians want), rape and enslavement would be very real possibilities in your life. This is the key insight that Libertarians are missing. Libertarians basically want a boxing match without a referee on the grounds that a referee unfairly restricts their freedom. Well, that boxing match will very quickly devolve into an execution. Freedom means that your opponent can rape your corpse after he's done killing you.

@IChoseTheRedPill Have you watched my 4 part series on Conscious Politics? Have you watched my 5 part series on Spiral Dynamics? How about my video on Understanding Corruption? If not, those are a must-watch. And I will have more political videos in the future. -
Good luck Corbyn!

Because he dismisses love as a human emotion, not recognizing it as an Absolute. Love is of course a human emotion, but it's also an Absolute. Which is a facet of awakening that he's missing. Don't believe me. Find out for yourself what is Truth, what is Love, and see if they turn out to be one and the same. (They will). All the greatest mystics have told you that God is love. Maybe they were right -

My political predictions are not infallible and they do not hinge on the Absolute. They are relativistic predictions. It would be idiotic to claim that I know with 100% certainty what will happen in 2020 because I had some awakenings. And of course I never made such claims. You have to be very careful to separate the relative and absolute domains. -

@AlphaAbundance You thought wrong. Ego wants positivity and pleasure and good mood. All of that is conditional and fleeting and leads to suffering and self-deception. You cannot become happy by chasing positive mood. Chasing positive mood leads to suffering. The paradox is this: if you want to be happy, you have to stop caring whether you are happy or not. -
Leo Gura replied to Bryanbrax's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
There's no mystery here. You can have total understanding of life's greatest metaphysical questions but not necessarily have it reflected in your outward behavior. What he means when he says, "I have all the answers" is existential answers, not survival answers. Existential answers do not requires any outward behaviors. You can have many existential answers but still be an asshole. The mistake here is conflating awakening itself with transformation of the mind, body, and human self. Having awakenings is relatively easy while changing the structures and habits of the mind is much harder and takes a long time of sustained practice. Also, nothing about awakening requires the guy to stay with his wife and family, or conform to any other kind of social expectations. They are projecting those expectations onto him. The expectations of how an enlightened person ought to behave. Nothing says that an enlightened person ought to act nice towards you. The problem here is conflating issues of Absolute Truth with survival. Just because you are conscious of Absolute Truth does not mean you'll be good at managing money or family. Nor does it even mean you will feel positive. These are all separate issues. One of things awakening tends to do is make one uninterested in mundane survival issues. As they are seen to be trivial. -

As great as Ralston is, he don't understand that Truth & Consciousness are Infinite Love. Maybe it's because he's too autistic. -

@abrakamowse Frankly, at this point, I can't be bothered to care what scientists have to say about the origin of reality. They are so clueless it's beyond help. When the scientist admits that he is God, then I'll listen to his ideas about the origin of reality. -
Nope Like I said. That's not necessary for solitude. Living in a cabin in the woods is impractical when I run an online business. And actually, it's impractical period. Hard to get food there.

@IChoseTheRedPill Be here to learn. There are dynamics at play which you are nowhere near conscious of yet. -

@CreamCat In the real world bully rapes your daughter and makes you his slave at gun point. This ain't a game. This is survival.

What might work better for purposes of embodiment is doing more low dose trips more frequently. -
Just to clarify, this also might change. There are phases in life when I am more isolated, and other phases when I am more social. And solitude does not literally require a cabin in the woods. Solitude can be had in the middle of a busy city.

But that's what libertarians are opposed to. They call such privileges theft of their taxes. According to them you shouldn't have public schools, roads, healthcare, parks, courts, etc.
-
@CreamCat What you're overlooking is that privelged people who have never been exploited and have no awareness of their own privelege then end up becoming the exploiters without even realizing it. This is bullying 101. The bully has no sense of what it's like to be on the receiving end of the bullying. It helps to be bullied so you understand what it feels like.

These are legally debatable points. These are mostly policy choices. President gets to make policy decisions. Of course such decisions can cause lots of harm, but that's all part of the job. Don't be so defeatist. Dems have a decent chance of winning back the Senate in 2020. Most voters are not blind Trumpists. Many voters will be upset at Republican Senators in swing states next year. Could be enough to flip the Senate. Another blue wave is likely. Impeachment rallies the progressive base.

Your analysis lacks nuance. Both parties are not at all the same and are not equally corrupt. Also, most politicians care about a lot more than getting reelected. They work hard to create the best government they know how to create. It's easy to make simplistic and naive critiques without having lifted a finger to actually create a good government. You may have escaped the trap of being a Republican, but you've now fallen into another. It takes a lot of careful study and contemplation to start to understand how government and politics work. Careful acting like a know-it-all in this domain. You have years of learning ahead of you. There is a lot more to creating good government than picking one of two sides, or picking no side.
