That's precisely why there needs to be a stronger federal government with much better funding and strict protocols in place as soon as a new virus hits. This virus is directly the result of libertarian-like approach to government: let's just do nothing and the free market will fix itself. It sounds nice in theory, but in practice leads to mass death and economic horror. This virus is a failure of effective, competent, proactive government.

According to most of the world's scientists, academics, leaders, experts, and even serious business leaders. There cannot be an economy when every hospital is overflowing with dying people.
