There are Yellow folks on YT. Like the folks at Rebel Wisdom. The problem is it's never going to be super popular like JP because JP riles up the mouth-breathing masses with culture war political red meat for right-wingers. If JP didn't do that, none of us would know of him. He would just be another boring professor. They are not interested in serious intellectual stage Yellow discussions. They are interested in owning the libs, culture war stuff, debates, and simplistic TikTok style life advice. No serious academic or stage Yellow person wants to cater to that. It's like selling your soul to the devil for clicks. The cost of intelligence and nuance is a very niche and small audience. There is plenty of advanced, intelligent stuff on YT but it has thousands of views, not millions of views. And you have to go out of your way to search for it. It will not land in your feed automatically.

There was no causal connection between the two forums. My audience is not the RSD audience nor the hardcore pickup audience. People into personal development just naturally want to talk about how to evolve their dating, relationships, and sex. And a lot of guys just struggling to get laid these days. The only reason I talk about pickup is because I personally have a deep insider's look into this fascinating and much-misunderstood field, and I feel that I can call out it's unethical and toxic aspects in ways which few people in the community are willing to do because they are too busy maximizing their sex life. The pickup community is a very mixed bag, full of very sketchy people. So be careful.

They got huge backlash from activists which basically got them canceled for putting out content which was toxic masculinity. Julien's juvenile antics were the straw that broke the camel's back. If RSD did not self-censor and take down their own old videos, all their social media accounts would have been banned. Their payment processors were also starting to cancel them. So Owen made some tough decisions to self-censor and sanitize the entire brand. The old super-sexist RSD content could not survive in a post-Me-Too world. As far as the RSD forum goes, I think it got so toxic by around 2018 that it had to be shut down. The problem with the RSD forum is that it had virtually no moderation, so toxicity grew over the years to the point of getting horrendously out of control. It was a cesspool of toxic masculinity. And I think it got even worse once Incels, Redpillers and Blackpillers started joining in. That's a really toxic combo. It wasn't as bad in 2012 when I first started using their forum. But I was not around in 2018 when they closed it so I don't know how bad it got. I just assume it got pretty bad for them to shut it all down. I think they were also getting a lot of attacks from feminist groups and that forum was just a magnet to showcase the toxicity of the PUA community so they had to shut it down to not feed the horrific PR they were dealing with. It's bitter-sweet. There was good stuff on that forum, but also a lot of toxic sexist unethical garbage. The forum became an echo-chamber of juvenile, sexist, and narcissistic behavior. Which is one of the reasons why the Actualized forum is heavily moderated and I don't hesitate to insta-ban toxic people here. There is no algorithmic solution. There is no clear line. It's highly relative. But in general you can make a distinction between being hijacked by fear vs being wisely cautious. There is a difference between dysfunctional paranoia vs wise caution. If you look both ways before crossing a busy highway, that's not fear, that's wise caution. If you are so terrified of traffic that you refuse to leave your house, that's dysfunctional paranoia. And if you decide to cross the highway without looking because you think traffic is an illusion, you're an idiot.

Yes, academia is a gaint bureacracy and suffers from the problem of getting high on its own ivory tower farts. Then again, people on YT are too dumb to read serious academic work. The attention span of social media cannot handle serious intellectual discourse. It has never been the work of academics to preach heady ideas to the mouth-breathing hordes. Academia is for serious nerds to nerd out among themselves. There are serious pros and cons to such a system.

No one is glad about his suicide, but if he was recording and selling sex audios that obviously is not ethical and would eventually have to get called out. PUAs gotta find ways to teach game in a more ethical manner which is considerate of the girls. If they treat girls too much like objects it will create backlash for them because it promotes a toxic masculinity which mainstream society will not stomach. Game has to be done in a way which is not balls-to-the wall exploitative, selfish, and juvenile.

It's not that they haven't. It's just that no serious academic or intellectual would be interested in a public pissing match with JP. Serious intellectuals don't care about mainstream appeals to social media audiences, and they don't have a political ideology to peddle. To a serious academic someone like JP looks like an attention-whoring clown. But mostly, it just doesn't make sense for a guy with JP's celebrity and social media position to teach in a university. Even with my position, why the fuck would I ever confine myself to teaching within a university? That only makes sense if you got no better option. I love being indie. Part of JP's problem is that he really should have gone indie long ago. It's like he hates university politics and culture yet he locked his whole life to be immersed in that culture. Of course he is so bitter about it. I would be a bitter man too if I had to do all my Actualized work within a university system.

The solution here is not some deep metaphysical point. This is a healthy fear which is communicating a valid message to you: "Be extra careful. Don't be foolish or sloppy. Take precautions." Fear is there to help you avoid needless horrible suffering.

It's all good stuff, but for serious intellectual understanding books are irreplaceable. You will rarely get that same depth in a talk, even my talks.

@trenton It is not helping your situation when you frame it as "stealing from your family". You are trying to get on your feet. As you do so you can then repay them in other ways. That's what family is about. Focus on working to strengthen your career into something successful and enjoyable. As you do that, you will naturally become financially independent and you will even have enough left over to help your family out. Your family will benefit from you having a stable, successful, and enjoyable career. Your career cannot be stable and successful unless it is enjoyable. So don't treat enjoyment as a luxury here. You need to move into a job that you enjoy.

Not realistic or healthy. Eating 2000-3000 calories in one meal is not good. What you can do is one major meal plus a bunch of snacks throughout the day. My brother does that.

Tough situation. I've been there. I had to cut contact with my dad entirely for over a decade now. His influence on my life was just too toxic. You have to make a judgment call as to whether having him in your life is a constant source of toxicity and holds back your evolution. If it is, then you should have a serious talk with him about that, and if he still continues unchanged then you can cut him off. But before you do that, you can consider just limiting your contact with him and see if that helps eliminate most of the toxicity, If so, then just keep a healthy distance with only sporadic contact. The key question for you should be: Can you live the vast majority of your life and still actualize yourself while in contact with him? If the answer is yes, then try not cutting him off entirely and working through some of it with him. But if the answer no, then have that serious talk and cut him off if he refuse to change. As a good rule of thumb, let's say 5-10% of your time you can sacrifice to dealing with negative bullshit from friends and family. Consider that charity work. But if it goes over 5-10%, cut that person off. This is really a matter of learning how to set and enforce boundaries with people. Which is all about getting clear with yourself what you're willing to stand for and what is important to you. Define your boundaries clearly and communicate them explicitly to people. If they keep crossing your reasonable boundaries, that's on them. Don't feel guilty about enforcing your boundaries if they were clearly communicated and then repeatedly crossed.

CNN does not spread misinformation. They have a certain mainstream/corporate bias which you may disagree with, but that is not misinformation. CNN provides a lot of accurate factual reporting on major news events and they have journalistic standards. If anything CNN is too neutral on political matters to the point of deception through false equivalency. Fox News is a propaganda machine for the far right.
