Reza Aslan - God

3 posts in this topic

I've recently read a book "God" by Reza Aslan.

In it he describes the history of human religiosity - from animism to monotheism but in the last chapter he endorses pantheism and finishes the book with the phrase "You are God".

I didn't expect to read something so explicit in a book that is primarily written for the mainstream audience.

Have you read the book? Do you consider its author to be awake?

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie
