I think this because of very similar experiences, (granted, on mushrooms,) where my mind would fixate on sex, masturbation, being horny, watching porn, imagining sex, etc... I have a girlfriend now, and I have noticed that yes, it is still there if I want to engage, but is no longer a controlling force.
