Burning Through Karma or letting go?

I know it is a common question and a very individual decision. But I wanted to ask if you guys have some insight to share about it. 

I'm doing Vedanta guided meditation and I feel like I clearly understand the suggestion of liberating the glue of the mind's attachments and doubts in order to connect with awareness and wake up to something higher.

But I'm very challenged for possible material accomplishments. Mainly in sexual attraction, I have the need to progress and empower myself towards it. 

Many times these pursuits seem like a trap. I'm contemplating on that but I still have doubts about doing more consistent work toward my human needs. 

Did any of you guys felt divided in your journey? Can you really "burn through karma" as Leo suggests without getting stuck in the process?

You have lived multiple life times and will continue to do so. You will eventually burn through your karma....hell you might end up born enlightened. There is nothing wrong with being attached, it just means there are still things you want to do is all. Enjoy the dream we call life. Eventually it will all get old and you will want to leave. That is how you burn through your karma, you can't force it....it just happens.

Yeah, you definitely can. If you go in with the intention to transmute, understand and to do it consciously.

Also, if you have lived a life devoid in anything, then that needs to be felt, and experienced/expressed, before you start to merge with the Infinite. 
So give yourself what you desire the most and use that to fuel and to complement the rest of your life.
