Passive smoking

3 posts in this topic

Is passive smoking a significant source of heavy metals? My father has been been smoking around me since I was a kid. Only recently I've been trying to avoid it. Is it as dangerous as the press making it out to be? How do you guys deal with smokers in family? Like if a person smokes in the kitchen for how long you should air it?

Yes it is a source and it is incredibly toxic for everyone around the smoker.

You could consider buying a strong HEPA filter at least for your room, usually, these things are pretty efficient at trapping airborne particles. For me, this would be a significant motivation to get out of my parent's home at all cost even if it meant renting a one-room condo or flatsharing with other people.

Thanks for the advice. So even my room isn't safe from tobacco smoke if somebody smokes in a kitchen with a closed door?
