How to deal with difficulties

5 posts in this topic

Hi everyone☺️ As always I need an advice.

I started to learn a new skill and while I’m studying after a period of time I feel a sensation in my body(kinda anxiousness) and I want an immediate pleasure. Even some thoughts arise like:(Let’s watch porn and .. lol)

I used to suppress emotions and feelings and I try to work on it.

The way I deal with it is sitting and observing the emotions and the thoughts.

Any techniques/suggestions will be welcomed?

Do you practice meditation?

Suppressing emotions is not the right approach. Observe them without attachment. Try to find the root of the emotion.

If you are forcing yourself to study, then your mind seeks a little dopamine hit after a while.

Try to take short brakes between studying and give your mind little time to rest. I don't mean you should watch porn every 45 minutes between studying, but maybe meditate for 5 minutes, or look at the sky.

Thanks?
Yes I do. 40 minutes in the morning and before bedtime.

Yea I guess it’s about balance..I take a break when I start to feel some resistance.

I need to think about it more like a marathon than a sprint..not to burn out lol.

Maybe I'm rephrasing the previous reply, but just to make things clear.

Wait it out. Stop whatever you're doing, become conscious of your

sensation/desire and watch it. Don't give in. It should fade away.

Meditate for one hour a day and most of these nuisances will become irrelevant pretty fast.
