Becoming The Stillness (no-breath meditation)

5 posts in this topic

Inhale. Breathe in life.

Exhale. Surrender to the Light.

It matters not who breathes. Breath requires no name. It comes through regardless. Breath has no idea it is God. Purity.

Have you ever wondered how come there is a "ceiling" when you breathe? As well as a "ground" ? You cannot just inhale forever. Or exhale. Can you?

How come there is "room" for breath?

It could be argued that the depth and height of your breath are dependent on your lung capacity, or some other factors... And while that might be true, I became aware of something else during my meditation sessions.

We commonly think of breath in terms of duality. We breathe in. We breathe out. We welcome life in. We let go of it all. It could even be said, that inhaling takes a bit of effort, while exhaling brings relief.

But what if you were to break through that ceiling or ground? What if there was no beginning and no end to your breath? No inhale. No exhale. Just infinite breath.

What if there was no breath? Would you still be?

As I was leaving behind all thoughts and sensations; my sense of self has become lost in the depths of breath. I was no longer breathing. I knew not I was. And yet I was, the fullest. I was so whole there was no possibility for me to know it.

The breath became so deep that inhaling felt the same as exhaling. In fact; while I was inhaling I was also, simultaneously exhaling. The circle was so complete and the flow was so effortless and undisturbed, that the very need for breathing slowly began dissolving.

I just felt like I had enough of it. In a positive way. I was so full of breath that I eventually gave up breathing altogether. There was no intention. No effort. It happened naturally, on its own. I just stopped breathing. And it felt amazing.

I became one with The Stillness.

The reflection was still alive and vibrant. Moving. Passing through. But my mind stopped putting frames over it. There was no time and no space for me to notice any of "it". There was no "it". There was no "this", either. For "this" to be, a perspective must've been born first. A frame.

In pure formlessness there is only infinite potential. But no outcome.

Within stillness I breathe.

@Joshi3 Thanks. There's not much to it. Just breathe consciously, as often as you can. All else should happen on its own.
