TMI Practice Question

The thing doing all the focusing throughout the practices is not me.

Neither is the thing creating the joy, happiness, and equanimity.

So... What am I?

Closest I can tell, probably that which never changes in your experience, find it and you will find...something? :D

@Consilience you are the KNOWING.

Not a knower (noun) but the knowing (verb)

You're not a noun. You are a verb.

VERB!

How can a verb happen through Now?

Maybe he means you are words of book of NOW!

Probably wrong but I will take a guess.  :D

@Consilience now is the unchanging upon which the changing takes place.

NOW is not like a video which is paused. NOW is a video playing and NOW is the current time, undivided but cannot be captured. The moment it is captured, it's not the NOW.

Once again. This is a map at best, you know from your recent experience that the real is beyond all these words/concepts.

Trying to make sense of it in thinking you will once again GET IT is futile... You'll only get the analogy... Only the description of the taste but not the taste itself.

Let go of trying to get this and let go of the one who will then try to let go.

Impermanence means everything is change, not things change. Things ARE change. You ARE change. You are a verb, but we function as nouns. The open question is a mind that does not fixate on form, which is death, because all things are dying. Remember, things don't change in time: things are change. Things are time. You are time. Time cannot die. The realization that you are Time, change, is Zen.

Super interesting perspective, thank you

@Stakres because Im not a primate, but this was an important reality I lived years ago. And in a way, identifying as a primate makes more sense than identifying as something like “awareness” because the primate is literal experience whereas awareness is an idea being projected into experience. But even both seem to be slippery identities and still not quite it.
