Any favorite charities?

I'm going to be making quite some money soon. Charity is one of the alternatives I'm looking at to spend it on. 

Do you have any charities you like or could recommend? Preferably one that allows anonymous donations.

Favourite is very vague. Someone's most-liked charity might be doing relatively little good.

Dig into Effective Altruism if you want to make sure your money is having the biggest impact possible.

@Girzo good point. Maybe focus at least some of your goodwill locally where you can more easily see the need & response. Your local children's hospital, hospice, disabled charity or homeless shelter perhaps?
