I guess it depends on your definition of intelligence.

It may not have the intelligence to understand itself like you said but when the egoic self agenda is recognized to be an illusion, and stops being identified with, the mind can be used in great service to humanity. Of course if existence turns out to Simply Be a dream I guess nothing really matters lol.
