Can an healthy diet compensate for mental illness?

4 posts in this topic

What do you think about this topic?
For me, I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for a long time.
I'm working on in but it's much more difficult for me to change my state of mind than change my diet.
So I always had this question: if my diet is really healthy, can I prevent my body from being hurt due to the depression that I feel?
Right now I am applying a vegan diet that has really rich with antioxidants vitamins and minerals.
Thank you for any replay.

@Western Buddha

Diet is very important for one's mental wellbeing. They say that your gut is your second brain. There are foods that you want to avoid that cause inflammation and are toxic to your brain and body in general, and other foods that you want to make part of your daily diet - the ones rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, good fats, etc.

Search other threads/posts on here that will give you more feedback. Here is one that I found that might be of help

Means having people you don't play a role with.

Food is important.

Pursue understanding of your mind and getting knowledge in all area of life.

A bit of méditation After cold shower.

Cultivate love for what is already fine around you ( not what tv - internet or people put into your mind )
