Haha I loved it.  You have no idea how close that is to a story idea I had, and the main characters name was Clay!  Although in my story it was our AI Android offspring which rose up after the demise of humans and created their own new universe with Clay as the leader so he basically becomes God.

Haha maybe so..   Oh the strange loop of my story was that the androids find a way to manufacture organic matter and 3d print a whole new universe.  They create a  biocomputer which can reproduce and they put it into a 3d printed human body, based from DNA sample of their creators...  They create mankind who in turn one day recreate themselves as androids. A neverending cycle of organic / artificial creation and no one knows when and how it began.  

This synchronicity should be blowing my mind but honestly at this point I'm not that surprised....
