'Fear' of my own light

3 posts in this topic

Not totally sure how to ask this but I think you'll understand the gist. I've been wanting to start a YouTube/blog honestly for years now and be somewhat of a public figure. Without sounding cocky, I'm very confident that if I commit myself for a few years, I can grow it pretty big. For some reason though, I have this apprehension, this fear if you will of coming in to the light, of having attention on myself. There were a few times in my youth when some less than ideal stuff happened when I was 'in the light,' but I don't think its this. Its something about this quote, I just don't understand WHY. Is it low self esteem, a fear that if I shine too bright I won't receive love from others? An unconscious pattern of dimming my light to 'fit in' with others? Curious if anyone can relate to this or has any thoughts on what this is about.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

I hear you, man. I love that quote too.

It's the personality/ego that's afraid of the light, not you.  Say this aloud : ''I know who I am, I know what I am, I know how I serve.''
