Do you need to take a break?

3 posts in this topic

Everyone needs to understand the importance of knowing when it is time to take a break. Take note that you must never forget to live life to the fullest. However, this does not mean that you will abuse yourself. Depleted energy can cause some serious troubles in your health and life.

But according to Ross Edgley, "complete exhaustion reveals who you are." What do you think?

@blaircooper Don't confuse breaking the body's limits with an everyday habit.

Sure, it reveals who you are. But that's an insight, an aha moment. Once you get the message, you put the phone down. You don't keep calling every single day for the same message.

Get the message, adjust your life accordingly and maybe plan another barrier-breaking period for the future. But don't go about doing it on a day to day basis. It will come back to bite you in the butt.

”Unaccompanied by positive action, rest may only depress you.” -- George Leonard

@blaircooper The survival paradigm reveals itself to you when you're pushed to the extreme. Most people have never pushed themselves to that degree, but those who have got a taste, often get addicted to that. With good reason, it makes us feel more alive than anything else.

To answer your question, i believe Ross is an anomaly, however if one wants to push themselves to the max, i do believe that true strength comes from overcoming adversity.
