What is interpretation? Why do we interpret our perception? What is misinterpretation?

You receive data through your senses. And then you attach meanings to what you persceive. That's called intrepretation.

For example, you hear someone talking. It's just nosie actually if you listen. But you interpret that noise into meanings.

Wanna hear something interesting? The moment you experience life without any intrepretations will be the moment you get enlightened :D

good luck ;)

@Salvijus we are quite attached to interpretation, maybe because for survival. We are so deeply attached to it so that we can not be enlightened so easily.

Without interpretation we would not survive here for a moment.

One couldn't tell a difference between a rock and an apple without interpretation. It's just visual colors in your eyes. We make the meanings of these colors

In fact even colors are interpretation. You can actually see things with zero interpretation. Just the way things are. Not the way your mind interprets things. This is some Zen level achievement here. But it's possible very much.

@Annoynymous hehe

in that sense interpretation is an image you produce that reframes the raw material to an essence which is as accurate or graspable as possible in a way the underlying information can be used for further processing often in sense of decision making.

misinterpretation is when the picture you frame is not a sufficiently matching image of reality, and therefore in the classical sense not further processable.

misinterpretation can be fatal. for example if you misinterprete how fast a car is coming at you. or in situations where many lifes depend on accuracy of interpretation.

in everyday life you can use misinterpretation to confuse - or let others in the dark about your thoughts - it’s also a form of humor and can be used as creative method (only use it if you feel safe in it, and don’t confuse it with a lie)
