Idealism debunked!

3 posts in this topic

Idealism, although better than materialism, is still wrong. Let me show you why.

According to the book ‘Why materialism is baloney’, idealism still makes two assumptions:

1. Your conscious perceptions exists: everything that you experience with the five senses are real without a shadow of a doubt.

2. The conscious perceptions of other living creatures other than yourself also exists: so other people that you see are also themselves perceiving.

Note that both of those assumptions are completely groundless. They are both false when faced up with non-duality. So the concept of ‘universal mind’ can be safely debunked.

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

Maybe its worth investigating what real actually means.
