Which retreat should I go

4 posts in this topic

I have been meditating for about 3 months, mostly 20-30 minutes. Recently I want to make an effort and was thinking about going to a retreat.

2 choices in mind.

1. 10 day Vipassana. -silent meditation

2. Insight and Enlightenment Workshop hold by Peter Ralston. -including communications with a group

I know both requires extremely hard work, but which one should I choose? I only have limited time so perhaps can only join one of these during the year. I have heard so much about 10 day Vipassana, but I couldn't find anyone's experience about workshop by Ralston. Any thoughts would be highly appreciated.

@Daniellelu If you can’t meditate at home for 2 hours, how can you meditate somewhere else for 10 days?

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie
