Resistance To Shadow Work And Addiction

4 posts in this topic

I am going to do shadow work on my own and I have started reading a book called "Romancing The Shadow". I will do more research and get started soon.

I feel a resistance to reading about shadow work. I have been a victim to the shadow with video game addiction and I keep falling off track. I start to self sabotage and do low conscious things.

Please leave any advice you can give.

Let whatever happens happen. But carefully observe yourself - silently, without judgement. Awareness itself is curative. Leo made a video about this.

Shadow work will take some time. You will need to be patient.  First do some meditation to increase awareness.

Then do hours and hours of self-inquiry.  This will trememdous patience and time.

Next do transcendental meditation.

You can also use various forms of art and creative expression to fully connect to your feelings.

Then do journaling extensively.  This will help in venting and ranting.

Then do some self-observation throughout the day.  this will give you an idea where you're going wrong and what is causing distractions.

Lastly come to shadow Work where you are going to face those inner demons and confront your inner psychological issues.

This entire cycle will take enormous time.

I hope it helps.

Goodluck.

What mental mechanism  or technique you used to snap back to your plan ?
