Optogenetics sounds very promising for neuroscience. Will this technology be what turns out brains into fully programmable machines?

I guess it depends on the actual precision they can get.

And also on the side-effects of the method. Despite less invasive compared to other approaches, you're still mutating the DNA to open up this "activation backdoor" if you will.

Iuno why just like normal observations cant be the award winning thing, as like, when people come into the world, their indifference and misunderstanding of everything is so high, but then the technology is so high, in a way thats not observing like, what the issues are on the practical level first. Like, science doesnt reflect on science as something targeting that gap between technology and being human, its just forwarding observations that live out on a far ledge of the universe. Like they think they are solving problems from a more expanded plane, when its got lots of obstacles and intermittent dilemmas that separate normal experience from high end technology.

Like this award / nobel prize is itself a fake building block getting placed between technology and human experience. We have to close that gap since we are constantly adding junky blocks between the two now.
