Two souls in one body - new thinking allowed

10 posts in this topic

Jesse Michels recently had Jeffrey Mishlove on his show, and Jeffrey shared that this is one of the most prominent guests and curious cases
he has had on his own channel.

This is a 9 part series and I strongly recommend watching all of the nine parts. It's absolutely mindblowing.
I went through multiple cycles of "This can't be real, could this be an act or a disorder?" to "OMG, this is real!!"

Note: There is some controversy around these persons (can't believe I am saying that :D) but everything is directly addressed in part 5.

Reality is indeed stranger than fiction (or reality is just a strange fiction?!?).

sweet! ^_^

I’ve been spending more time at the library these days, so I look forward to watching all these parts there!

I'm watching this with an open-mind.

She/He might be telling some truth, but that doesn't exclude the possibility that they are sprinkling some lies here and there.

For example, the voice is produced by the larynx, not by a soul. The larynx is constant and tangible, it doesn't change. So they are definitely acting in this scenario, perhaps to make a point, but they could also be a bit over the top delusional.

It's interesting, though. I'll keep watching.

The voice is not  just the larynx. This is reductionism.

no two voices are identical, even with similar anatomy, so it feels like something more individual than biology explains.

You’re missing feeling, man.

Actually, they are. It's just physics.

That's how music is produced. A purely mechanical process.

I'm sorry, but this isn't up for discussion for me. It's an a priori.

Music without feeling and soul 😭

Music is everyone's.

The feeling and soul are yours.

Speaking of music, I am reminded of how musicians interpret music differently depending on how they relate to it, their upbringing, etc. Like how a classical musician is living in a different world than someone who plays improv. And how two different producers with very different personalities can  complement each other seamlessly, rather than fight for who is correct. A holistic approach, rather than competitions for whose perspective/part is the only right one.

Back to my own personal experience (and weaving it in with these insights):

I realize I need to merge the logical and the woo. To have a more complete voice, rather than merely mechanical or whimsical.

I actually have two speech therapists for my own transition: one that is scientific and one that is more woo. I don’t think they clash, they can synergize with one other.  I need to merge both perspectives instead of getting locked into one.

Thank you all for the clarity on this matter!
