People aren't open minded enough for historical facts

I was talking with my father's friend, he's an antisemite, but dude is too close minded to learn history. Like he says that the holocaust was only 400 000 jews were killed, and that history is written by the victors... And hitler genocided the jews because they were self serving and corrupting society with prostitution and interest. 

Here's the thing: this guys is a muslim and since his childhood he was indoctrinated into islam. Therefore his whole sense of identity, emotional system, and life now is wrapped up in it. If he was to learn history properly it would conflate with his religious upbringing and push him to grow beyond the center of gravity of his culture, which would feel like insanity, and losing his mind. Therefore he never had a chance to begin with to know the truth.
