Does anyone know what they are talking about?

I do. That is why I talk so little.

LoL

That's a classic, witty line often attributed to the Irish playwright and poet Oscar Wilde, expressing a love for light conversation, small talk, or perhaps even idle gossip, by ironically claiming it's the one subject he truly understands, making it a relatable and humorous observation about human conversation.

Meaning: It's a paradoxical statement (epigram) that suggests shallow topics are easy to discuss because they require little depth or commitment, unlike profound subjects that might reveal one's own ignorance.

Context: It's often used to describe enjoying trivial conversations or social banter, finding comfort in its simplicity.

Wilde's Style: This quote fits perfectly with Oscar Wilde's wit and his famous epigrams that challenged conventional wisdom.

It's really interesting because everyone seems to have their own unique experience of reality and different way of describing it, due to their different societal conditioning/points of view.

This appearance doesn't require a story to go with it, but there are endless stories nonetheless 😉

As soon as One expresses via this sort of method of posting on a forum, or talking about it with others, or sharing as a teaching, all of it becomes a story or philosophy to all listening, its helpful but not the Truth, the Truth is only within You as an Experience, everything else is concept, story, philosophy.. Problem is we are addicted to mind and intellect, reading, writing, expressing, watching.. this is fine if You are Living the Truth Experientially, not so fine if you are not, it will lead You further away from Truth and a Living Reality!

@Mellowmarsh It is not actually not about knowledge. But, about ownership.

It is not "oh there is no me, therefore everything is illusion", because in this there is still ownership of the word of illusion or no me.

No.

When you say it’s not about knowledge, but, the ownership of knowledge, do you mean like this…

There is no you to know, but only knowing.
There is no you to live your life, but only life.
There is no you to comprehend, but only comprehension.
There is no you to think, but only thought.
There is no you to feel, but only feelings.
There is no you to love, but only love.
No you to die, but only death.
No you to exist, but only existence.
No you to understand, only understanding.
No you to see, only seeing.
No you to be, only being.
No you to be aware, just awareness.

This is all denial of what You are and what Is, Your denying your Body and Mind and all that goes with it.

When You say just Surrender, Just Be, yes that is the most direct way but it is negating the Body, Mind, Karma, and is really not helpful, just go to see Yeah Yeah in the mental health section and say that to them, it means Your caught up in an ideology and have no way to relate to others, which is poor understanding and no compassion..

Yes You'll come back with too much thinking, this is not the reality and such, but say that too him.. Remember when Your kids was almost going to die? What happened then, if I said just surrender to it  to your face at that moment you would punch me in the face, so try to relate to others, don't be so stubborn on your ideology identification, and stop the preaching like You know it all, as that is what it coming across, saying this to help You James! Your too arrogant right now..

Actually, birth, death, knowledge etc... happens to body and mind.

But, You are free as always. That doesn't mean you feel amazing or fantastic or full of joy, but simply Being completely free.

Like being exhausted from car driving, which means is being exhausted of being on control. However, when autopilot takes over, complete relaxation (end of controller, end of controlling). Then freedom is always there.

I really understand that James. Very well put.

Once again, I’m in agreement. 💯 Thanks for the clarification.

No.

Correct me if I’ve interpreted you wrong, but is what you mean by freedom, the freedom that comes with not owning anything, especially from owing thoughts, like when we sometimes say thoughts are “my thoughts”

But real freedom is not being obsessed with the idea of being the owner of thoughts, but to recognise it’s only the mind that makes them about you. And that this owned you, is not the real you.

When you realise thoughts are not about the real you, they could simply come and go, and your attention would be freed up from the slavery of owning the thoughts. That’s an awesome freedom, yes?
