Fact & Truth x Belief & Assumptions - What Are The Differences?

8 posts in this topic

I was contemplating this issue. We live in a mind full of bullshit, beauty, fantasies.

What do you think?

How to make a distinction between Fact x Truth x Belief x Assumption?

How do you navigate reality? What do you use the most?

"Could it be said to be happening, or to have happened?"

As a good starting point, I think that paying attention to the objective world helps - and also to the domain of objective feedback.

Fact -- a relative but concrete discernable truth.
Truth -- Absolute Truth and relative truth.  Relative truth includes but it not limited to facts.
Belief -- holding a relative truth.
Assumptions -- beliefs that the small self is more or less conscious of.  Could be unconscious.

99% people does not know about it.

They live as if their worldview/assumptions are existentially real.

"What do I think is true that I haven't personally experienced firsthand?"

This could be another criterion for discerning what's a belief.

An assumption would be an unconscious belief you operate from. It shows up in your experience as reality - for you.

These are possible definitions - you can always ask what each of those is and find out the truth beyond any explanation.
