Soon I’ll be taking ketamine for the first time 

part of me is a little intimidated, but I hope with the treatment it’ll alleviate my ptsd, depression, and anxiety.
 

I don’t show my suffering or at least I try not too as much. 
I’ve always been the type to silently suffer with my own mental health struggles.

That’s a fantastic intention for your first K trip. It took me 9 K trips until I that kind of intention. You’re ahead of the curve.

I realize that our sister uses dark humor to cope with harsh truths.

Makes sense. During the start of the pandemic, she had an existential crisis and hallucinated that she was Donald Trump. The police came to the House to take her away, but she refused for an hour straight. The ambulance was eventually called, and the nurse finally restrained her and took her to the mental institution.

Exploring my mind is hard work. I am questioning and examining all of it. It’s truly maddening, but also exciting. 

There is a twisted joy in being in love with insane and novel parts of my mind. When I had my first existential crisis, it was frightening as hell. When that experience ended, I was like “omg, let’s do that again!”. This is the kind of attitude that has allowed me to persevere in this work.

In an alternate reality, I can definitely see how Mom would be Dad and Dad would be Mom.
