Microplastics, we're fucked

This is just like having heavy metals in your brain except you can't do anything about it.

You can minimize the ammount of microplastics that are entering you by applying certain lifestyle changes that almost everyone is probably aware of, such as not drinking from plastic bottles, etc. etc. But yeah, this is definitely blackpilled. Indeed we are fucked

There just isn't enough science right now to know how we can remove micro plastics from the human body. It is an emerging field right now. The science will be there in the coming years. In the meantime do all you can to avoid micro and nano plastic exposure.

I read sweating, hot yoga/sauna helps eliminate microplastics from your system.

All I drink is water from plastic bottles, what do you recommend? There's so much social media bullshit and nonsense that floods the information ecosystem that it's hard to know what changes to make.

Glass with non-toxic lid, name brand stainless or titanium are supposed to be good. Obviously a good water filter system is preferred.

Yeah heard this too from a Dr Rhonda Patrick on a Rich Roll Pod she also mentioned there is some premilinary studies showing potentially a polefenol rich diet flushes microplastics from the body

I think there is some evidence microplastics can be reduced through blood donation - plasma specifically.

I have to say I donate blood & plasma regularly and all I notice is a lot of fatigue while my body replenishes after a donation :P

Having said that I have no issues neurologically at 39 years old (lots of time for that shit to accumulate). But that says nothing really.

It is my understanding after speaking to some of the contractors who set up filtration systems, most microplastics get into the environment from car tyres & synthetic clothing fibres. From there into the water supply. In addition - the lab scientists at one of the research facilities we fit out said the amount from plastic bottles themselves didn't seem to concern them. More the supply from tyres + clothes into the water.

Who knows though - this was midyear 2024 I spoke to them so they may have different more advanced knowledge now.

I love pumping people for information

I have run a though experiment in my head in the past. You go for a weekend by the ocean like any average person does. You go for a swim not realizing all the micro and plastics floating around from all the contamination we throw worldwide into the water 😨😨😨. The oceans must be so much more polluted than the land. Because we can throw it away and it just dissapears under the waves so many people believe it's ok to pollute the oceans 😥.

Interesting take. That'll be nano plastics that can cross the blood barrier

Oh yeah, transmit the microplastic infested blood to another person, that'll surely solve the problem. Lmao

Yeah, but I do feel there is a lesser evil to the microplastic side effect: that plasma is used for critical care applications. Tons more plasma and blood is needed. Looking at it wholistically that is - I do see the humor in it though :P and I know you weren't suggesting to stop donating lol

Plasma is also used for fuckloads more shit that just donating - it is used for creating medications, treating burns, immunotherapy, liver treatment. Theres more I just cannot recall
