Are there any advantages on being short male?

8 posts in this topic

I wouldn't care I am short, i like my height. But it seems that people think you are physically weaker cause you are shorter (i think they could be right) so they disrespect you and treat you badly. Men bully you, women just don't like you.

I wonder if there are any advantages, maybe I will feel better about myself if I hear something positive.

What are your experiences and what do you think about this as a short man?

I don't consider myself short but I don't think being short automatically means you're physically weaker or less capable. Two random people came to mind:

Marc Marquez (MotoGP): he dominates one of the most physically challenging sports out there.

Eminem: people don't respect him for his size, but for his intensity and confidence.

It's frustrating when people judge you on something you can't control, but there are advantages. Like being underestimated and then proving people wrong. A short person doing something with their life carries way more presence than some tall person. Gives off that badass underdog vibe.

Better health, longer lifespan, good people may befriend you easier being less threatening.

I don't think it matters. Everyone has to find a right woman for them, everyone has some area in this pursuit that is a struggle. Everyone can be bullied, being bullied does not devalue you, it has nothing to do with you and it's no reflection of you, it's a reflection of insecurity and weakness in the bully, that's it.

I'd imagine that not bumping your friggin' head into a ceiling or a door jamb every time you make even a slightly sudden move is somewhat of a plus. The number of times this has happened to me is crazy — the ceiling is still undefeated against me

Legroom. I’m below average height and I always have a comfortable amount of space for my legs wherever I sit.

This week I was at the opera house here, which I’ve heard really tall people actually can’t attend because the legroom is so bad. I had a wonderful time, so that sucks for them.

@Kid A Oof I kinda wish my legs were shorter in situations like that. But I still think the pros outweigh the cons by being tall tho. Just don't be 'too' tall. (Like above 6'5)

I just happen to live in a country with a lot of tall people so the head bumping thing isn't much of an issue. The biggest issue I could find about being tall is back pain from looking down so much at screens and especially when cooking in the kitchen. I've also heard that shorter people tend to show muscle faster when they train. Oh and i'm 6'3 btw.

There is no such thing as tall or short really, its all perspective and how you choose to see it and what "beliefs" you choose to allow to control and shape your life. What if you are perfect your perfect natural god-given height? The advantages is that you are yourself and no one is like you.

God gave you a fingerprint no one has so you can leave an imprint no one can.

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance ~ of a unified mystery...

@Ramasta9 Yeah I agree with this honestly, it's how you treat yourself for being short or whatever height you may be. If you're insecure about it people can feel that. And if you end up blaming your shortness for certain problems in your life you're probably not going to succeed.
