I remeber on psychedelic I entered a trance state where my entire visual field was filled with purple and blue and red zig zagging light that was like static but I could walk around the room and it would move. I couldnt see my body IRL like normal but when I was moving around I could see my body by the outline of the light my hands and body made in this field of purple and red and blue zig zagging light. Like putting your hand under a blanket and seeing its outline that a hands there. I thought it was cool and I went to lay down on the ground. When I layed down the light was completely static and I suddenly was shook with fear as I couldnt see my body now and I  had like 10 seconds of memory before I faded. When this happen my ego when oh shit I dont know where I am and I got up and dumped my shrooms cause I saw enough lol. 

Looking back on this I see that dying is like drowning. You will thrash and thrash as the ego tries to figure out where it is until you stop thrashing and surrender and drown in nothing. The psychotic can be seen as someone who thinks they are there and thrashes in nothing( moving around).

I see static all the time because I have visual snow. Once on weed the static intensified and it was like a blueish pattern. It’s hard to tell what kind of sightings are just neurological effects vs tapping into something spiritual, depending on what you see could give you a clue, maybe they overlap.
