It is one of the main political representatives of Russian-speaking Israelis. The party was established after the major wave of post-Soviet immigration in the 1990s.

Around 1 million Russian-speaking immigrants arrived in that period.

Roughly 15% of Israel’s population are Russian-speaking.

Mansour Abbas party: United Arab List

Mansour Abbas has shown a relatively pragmatic, accepting and result-oriented approach, rather than a strict ideologic one.

Lower voting percentage, fragmentation into small Arab lists that causes votes to get erased due to getting under the 3.25% treshold, along with partial votins to Jewish parties - leave those parties with half the number of seats expected from their size (20%) in the population.

I was just recently thinking that Israel is similar to the US in that it has a lot of stage blue. Israel clearly has more stage blue than the US because of the former's high fertility rate and the fact that it's literally an ethnostate. Religion is about as important to Israelis on average as it is to Americans.

@Infinity16 Indeed a lot of Blue. I don't know if more than US, maybe to some degree yes but I am not sure about the difference in amount. What I can say is that Blue here is more reactive and edgy.

I think the desire to have kids goes down as society moves from blue to orange. This is what we see across rich countries is low fertility rates. Israel is unique in that regard in that the birth rate is just below 3 children per woman. Maybe it has to do with constantly being under threat.

@Infinity16 Yes threat definitely plays a role for some, culture and norms for others. Ultra orthodox have huge fertility of 6 to 7 children what drags the average up.

The IDF chief lawyer (a major general) leaked the rape video from Sde Teiman illegally in order to protect her staff against a villification campaign from the Israeli right, who claimed no rape took place. She summarily resigned and may have considered suicide today, when she apparently ditched her car at a Tel Aviv beach and only contacted her husban this evening. 

This general had, of course, censored and blocked any investigation into Israel's crimes in Gaza over the past two years. She leaked the video because she was afraid her staff would suffer personal consequences. Israeli "liberals" are claiming she leaked the video (and lied about an inquest into the leak) because she could not stomach the immoral act. That does not sound logical. If this was the straw that broke the camel's back, why would a general resort to subterfuge? Why wouldn't she stand up and be counted?

The answer is the broad and deep consensus of support for the genocide among Israeli Jews. The general did not find war crimes against Palestinians, even when extremely well documented, to be worthy of a leak. She placed her legal authority at the discretion of political and military leaders who led the genocide. Granted, Netanyahu's supporters are icky and creepy (one prominent broadcaster tweeted "ok to continue the lynch" when the general was found alive and well) in the extreme. That does not mean that their political rivals did not offer their quiet, consistent support for the genocide. 

The outrage at the toxicity of Israeli public discourse on the part of the "liberals" is a conscious attempt to repress this consensus. Their desire is to portray Israel as a country that just needs to be in "normal" hands in order to return to normalcy. This denial of reality may be even creepier than the obnoxious murderousness of Netanyahu's supporters.
