Is my purpose in life wrong?

5 posts in this topic

I want to become very good at mma, socialising and drawing (not champion or one of the best or something unrealistic like that, just very very good).

I have anhedonia since 5 years ago but today I envisioned being better at these things and I felt like I found my meaning in life, I had 5 years to feel like this. I feel motivated.

Do I need something more grand? something less grand? is this life purpose or it's too superficial and self centered? Will I waste my life if I dedicate my life to these things? What's your purpose in life? What's supposed to be a purpose in life?

edit: do i need something more to be happy? Am I on the right path?

I think what you ultimately need, is to get to a point where you can validate these questions for yourself. Rather than turning to other people to answer them for you.

It doesn't matter if people think it's too shallow. If these things do it for you, they do it for you. They don't even need to be long term man, it's ok if you feel full enough after a few years of them. If this is what you want to do right now? Do it right now.

Just. If you've never done these before make sure you get experience in them before fully commiting. If you haven't done em before hard to tell if you like them actually or just the fantasy of it, until you do them.

@Puer AeternusI have done mma and socialazation before and I remembered how awesome they felt. It's the drawing that is more a fantasy but at least I should try. I just thought it's better to ask for a second opinion other than my own. I don't think I have any other life purpose that I love. I am going to start doing them right now, cause they give me ''life energy'' if I can call it like that, which means I feel awesome doing them. Thank you man I appreciate it.

It's a bit premature perhaps to call it life purpose if you have very little experience doing these things, but it is definitely a good sign that you should continue pursuing them. Just see what happens.

Short answer is no, none of those activities will make you happy.

Yes, you will develop relationships with your hobbies, meet new people, learn invaluable skills, gain a lot of pleasure from doing it.

That's awesome, man!

But that's not gonna fill the hole in your heart. Nothing will

If you ask, "Is this a solid list of hobbied?" I would say, "fucks yea, dude!"

But is it what is needed to fulfill your soul, to BECOME that which you ever wanted?

No chance. If your goal is peace or fulfillment, pursue spirituality to its end.

Again, the answer to your question of how do I be more happy is right in front of you.

Consider that "LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST" is only achievable right this very moment.

Bungee jumping, paragliding, epic threesome, winning the lottery, you think these things will make you feel like you're living life to the fullest?

Think again, brother, or don't bother thinking in the 1st place.

And once you do that, your mma and drawing and whatever else will be filled with more skill, intensity, consciousness, effortlessness, and creativity.
