It seems so, but how to do it? How to reindustrialize a country? I'd say there's only one way: accepting years of serious recession. Tightening our belts and competing with the Chinese in the factories. Are the American people willing to do that? I'd say no.

The Democrats' option was much more Roman: plundering Russia. This would have given them a few decades of prosperity. But of course, if you want to be Roman, your legions must be willing to die for Rome; otherwise, the barbarians will laugh at you. So, what's left?
