  1. Because I want to access reality directly. Direct experience is king, as @Leo Gura is saying. Direct experience is reality itself. I don't need an Ego because I don't wanna live a lie. As long as I'm guided by my Ego, how can I experience absolute truth? As long as I'm following my Ego, how can I become more conscious? You get it, right? This is what I mean when I want to drop my Ego.
  2. So happy to hear that from you. I'll pray to myself then, as @Leo Gura said. I'll ask for selflessness, wisdom and consciousness every day.
  3. Sure. Thank you for reminding me that. I have to be grateful just for the sake of being alive; just for the sake of being healthy; just for the sake of living such good times. I am practicing gratitude every single day.
  4. That's great. I should pray every single day then. And not from an egoistic perspective. I have al the goods I need. The real reason I wanna to pray is to become a wiser human being. I'm dedicating myself and my life to the path of self-mastery. I'm doing my best to become conscious all the time, like a yogi.
  5. I've watched Leo's video about conscious politics. It is by far the deepest political analysis I've ever watched. If you really pay attention to the things he says, you'll be amazed and shocked at the same time. I fully agree with him. We have to put conscious leaders in power so they can integrate psychology, philosophy, ecology and spirituality into our system. The only way we can do that is by raising consciousness across the board. It's not useful at all to blame the politicians; it's just a waste of time. They are deceived as well as the people who are voting for them. And right now, our society is requiring enormous human resources to be controlled and maintained. We have schools, institutions, trains, airports, roads and so forth which are all maintained by capable humans. But the problem is that the Western world (a civilization that gave us human rights) is imploding. Why? Because people are refusing to have enough children. We won't have enough people to continue the scientific work that we're doing right now. We won't be able to come up with a cure for cancer if we're not having enough kids. Nobody is addressing this situation. It's important to integrate the family value into our system. We need to educate people to make sacrifices and have kids. Otherwise we all know what is going to happen. And right now we are experiencing fewer and fewer births. Where there is a tragic loss of population, the progress stops. And of course, we have many many problems but this one is a very big one and an inconvenient truth that we really need to talk about. And by the way, I'm glad that Leo made a video like this. It was really needed.
  6. Hello guys. I would like to try to meditate all the time; to be present all the time. I would like to be in a meditative state even when I'm at work or anywhere really. Have you ever thought about being present all the time and what can you do to achieve that? And also, what would happen to our brain if we would mediate all the time?
  7. Today I tried to stay in the present moment while I was working and it went okay. I can meditate pretty well even when I'm working (being on my job). The interesting fact is that today I discovered my capability which is related to meditation; I can put myself in a meditative state almost instantly. When I realized that I'm able to do that, I almost had an orgasm; a metaphysical one. It is great. It's much easier to stay in the present moment when you develop such an ability. Meditation becomes enjoyable. Not to brag but I need to mention that I have over 16 months of experience when it comes to meditation. I meditate every single day for about 35 minutes straight - after I wake up. So let's see what happens folks. I'm getting better and better which means I will let you know if I'm getting at the level of being present almost all the time. At the moment, I still have social anxiety but with meditation I will get rid of it. I'm absolutely sure of that.
  8. It takes a lot of work, yeah. But someday I will be able to achieve it. What happens to our brains when we meditate?
  9. How can I become conscious of God? How can I be sure that psychedelics are not delusional?
  10. Hello. As I'm building my existential vocabulary, I wanted to ask: WHAT EXACTLY IS CREATIVITY? I would like to know your own perspective on this concept, called creativity. For me, creativity means to be able to come up with a useful, original idea which can be turned into reality. Or, to have the ability to solve problems in a unique way. Or, using your imagination to invent something new and useful to others. How about you? What dose it mean for you to be creative?
  11. I agree. Reality is God's creativity. It takes something that's beyond comprehension to create such a magnificent reality.
  12. Yeah. Creativity is the ability to transcend a useful, original idea into reality.
  13. Hello. I have a little problem. Me and my brother (he's 25 years old) don't get along very well. He has a victim mentality and continues to blame me for his problems almost on a daily basis. He wants me to give him money and food. I told him that I can't support him anymore and to be on his own. Since I told him that, he doesn't respect me anymore. He just kinda' hates me and there is nothing I can do about it because he's not able or he doesn't want to embrace responsibility. Recently I found out that he talks about me (gossip) with his friends and people I know all sorts of nonsense. And the problem is that they believe him. People I know are stopping me on the street and asking me about the made up bullshit of my brother. They believe him, not me. What should I do? Even if I explain myself, they still believe the bullshit of my brother. How can I get over this? It is so frustrating.
  14. I did stop communicating with him but he keeps talking sh*t about me with people I know.
  15. Hello everyone. I'm 26 years old and this year I got involved in a relationship for the first time. I've never had a real relationship before. Everything seems fine and we get along pretty well, but the problem is that I don't see myself in any relationship. I like to spend time alone, by myself, in my own company. I really enjoy being alone. Sometimes I have thoughts like "being alone is not that bad but neither good". It's a little bit of a dilemma because I'm not that happy being in a relationship and also, not happy being without a relationship. I don't know how to solve this issue. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
  16. When I meditate I'm focusing on my breathing. I hope it helps. I will try to be more mindful throughout the day. Also, I will contemplate using a journal.
  17. Hello. In the past few months I've been struggling to articulate my thoughts clearly. Even now, when I'm writing this topic, it seems hard for me to write down my own sentences with clarity. I'm not trying to be a victim here. I just need some advice. I read almost on a daily basis and I have a journal where I write every day. I've been doing this for a pretty long time (about 6 months) and it feels like I'm going nowhere. And when I'm trying to learn new things, I take notes and I read them over and over with attention, but when I try to recall what I've learned, I feel blocked. I'm not able to recall well. It's so frustrating and discouraging. Maybe it has something to do with me? I was raised by a very abusive father. I wasn't good in school. I have social anxiety. My psychology is a little bit negative but I'm working on it by using meditation daily and it helps. When I'm watching @Leo Gura's videos I'm getting a mindfuck. I'm not able to comprehend how is he able to be so articulate; or how is he able to retain so much information? I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm feeling stuck in my own head. I have so many things to say but I can't articulate them. Do I have a learning-memory problem?
  18. Yes. And I don't feel OK in social situations.
  19. Yes, sometimes I'm mindful but it doesn't help. I keep saying to myself that I'm neurotic and I shouldn't be. As to identifying my neuroticism, my social anxiety for example. Or when I'm thinking about sex; I have an aversion to sex and intimacy. At 26, I'm still a virgin. I've never had a real relationship. I'm ashamed to go at the bathroom when I'm working; I don't want my colleagues around me. Especially girls. Or sometimes I imagine being in a relationship, living with a girl, but being ashamed to live with her from the standpoint of being naked in front of her or using the bathroom. Things like that. It's so awful man.
  20. I did watch Loe's video about neuroticism. I watched it two times. But there's no info about curing neuroticism. It's just an overview about neuroticism, to recognize neuroticism. And about that book, no. I didn't read it. Maybe contemplation will work; writing down my thoughts about neuroticism, to identify the problem.
  21. I don't know how to get to the bottom of my neuroticism. Some people recommend psychedelics; others meditation. I've been meditating for about 11 months now. Every single day for 30 minutes. But it seems it's still there. It's so frustrating.
  22. Thank you for your answer. This is what I've found here: According to Dr. Kerry Spackman: “If you are deprived of love and affection as a child then key areas of your brain which are responsible for your personality don’t get wired up correctly….We know this because brain scans of people who have been emotionally deprived of love and affection show that connections between their rational frontal lobes and their emotional circuits don’t work correctly. These emotional/logical connections can remain incorrectly wired up throughout your adult life if you’ve had a very traumatic childhood.” So I need to work hard on myself, to rewire my brain. Can meditation be a cure for my psychological problems? Can I use psychedelics to fix my rational frontal lobe and my emotional circuits? I'm a very neurotic person.
  23. Hello guys. From time to time, I believe it's useful to contemplate our own death. Life is extremely short if we truly realize it. Time goes by too quick and it's helpful to appreciate and use THIS moment with responsibility. I was thinking about contemplation but in a different way. Is it legit to say that 'contemplation' can be done through writing? Is writing a good way to contemplate things? Is there a difference between thinking and writing? Jordan Peterson said that writing is formalized thinking and there is no difference between thinking and writing. What are your thoughts on that? Right now I'm doing my best to cure myself from the dreadful neurosis that I have. P.S: I'm 26 years old and I've never had a real relationship; when I'm thinking about intimacy I feel like I have an aversion about it. This is neuroticism. It sucks. I am doing my best cu CURE it once and for all. P.S.S: I meditate every single day for 30 minutes.
  24. So how can I be able to really understand your statement? Beyond the mind.
  25. That's true. I understand. Thank you for clarifying that. The mind itself is the EGO. And I have a question about @Leo Gura. Is he enlightened?
