  1. The victim was a rich and powerful white man, that probably has some influence. But aside from that, how many premeditated, targeted murders happen out in the open like this in that area of NYC? I would assume not many. I think the gunman wanted this though, he wanted the sensationalism and spotlight. If it was behind closed doors in not such a populated place, and not caught on camera, it probably wouldn't get the same level of coverage.
  2. You do make a fair point. The CEOs, corporations, and rich oligarchs are all incredibly corrupt and have always held society back, and yet politicians don't talk about it. At most, Democrats will say "Republicans want to make tax cuts for the rich, not you!" That doesn't really land well, as we've learned. The country may finally be ready for a left wing populist, but who knows. Certainly, the majority of Americans regardless of political views feel the pain from our corrupt healthcare system, hence why this assassin has almost universally been viewed sympathetically as a hero.
  3. That could just as easily be a red herring. Although I think it's more likely that it was either just some disgruntled guy or a fanatic who thought he was doing the right thing. Either way, I think it's fair to say that these assassinations and assassination attempts are only going to become more frequent as time goes on. Security and bodyguard business is going to be booming.
  4. Men can be just as needy and fear being alone just like women. But I think men are more apt to embracing becoming a lone wolf. People suck, we all know it, the less we deal with people over the long term, the better. I don't think women on average have that hardened of a view.
  5. With all the political fuckery going on, climate change, and widening gap between the upper class and everyone else, feels like we're on a quick path to WW3, aka a nuclear humanity reset button.
  6. Never stop fighting the good fight, even if it ends with you being lynched or in a concentration camp.
  7. All part of the plan to throw hand grenades into the system and cause chaos and derision.
  8. Matt Gaetz drops out for AG. What a complete and utter clown show this has been, and the fat orange doofus isn't even in office yet.
  9. If that was how you felt, then it was fine. I didn't think it was particularly misguided or malicious, it's a valid remark about what may lie ahead.
  10. They'll eat the rich before anything else. Has happened throughout history. Look at France.
  11. Y'all ready for the drafts, after they kick out women and minorities in the military, and people generally not signing up for such a toxic and corrupt regime?
  12. I'll be able to afford the massive price hikes on food and other basic essentials. The vast majority of Trump voters won't. Fuck'em. We tried to tell them, they wouldn't listen.
  13. Ok cool. Let them come to my house. I got a little present waiting for them 🔫
  14. While this is mostly true, it's also true that the US was not an autocracy at that time consuming bogus, alt right media. Bigoted and mean spirited, yes, the US was always that. But they actually had somewhat of a moral compass guiding them and a trust and belief in our government and establishments, not a crusade of alternative media brainwashing them.
  15. I'm glad I never used Facebook. Being a millennial, I remember the early days of the Internet when it was mostly just us geeks and nerds on forums. The idea of normies populating the Internet never felt right to me...
  16. "When someone tells you who they are, believe them" as we say in Chinese.
  17. I can see all these things coming to pass. This is what most Americans voted for, so hopefully they're prepared for the collapse of a once dominant superpower. We're basically repeating the 1930s European Axis powers in the WWII era, all because our citizens are selfish, greedy, idiotic bastards. Hopefully nuclear war doesn't occur, but this may just be the end of humanity, all because a bag of potatoes costing a dollar extra or some shit.
  18. https://x.com/CBSNews/status/1854260418094481806?t=rVENstAy_ZIh1ff-oIkT1Q&s=19 Good job, America! You certainly didn't vote against your own survival, morons! Good job, Latinos and middle easterners! Seems like a smart idea to vote to have your own asses deported!
  19. https://x.com/MeidasTouch/status/1851308109634973944 I'd say pretty damn fucked.
  20. @questionreality Can you get your replies in one post, please? 3+ consecutive posts is clutter.
  21. Facts don't care about your feelings.
