Literally sat waiting to go into Surgery and I've told all the hospital staff that are looking after me that I want no painkillers after awakening, they are all shocked and advised me against it. However, I stand firm on my decision, I believe I can get through this via mindfulness and breath. Just to confirm (as I'm a little bit nervous) that I'm going to completely surrender to whatever pain I endure on awakening and breath into it 100%?
  5. @Amer People usually withdraw and give the silent treatment as a form of control. Creates and atmosphere and draws attention to them (which she wants) don't give her that attention. Carry on as you where/are and completely ignore. Take your attention completely away from her when she does this. People usually continue with these type of tactics because they work (unconsciously or consciously) make them NOT WORK.

I also contacted somebody who can get me some (will test), getting the ball rolling slowly. I'll also be keeping a very close eye on my mind set and ramping up meditation closer to the time. I have this intuition to take this to the next level which brought me to the idea of psychedelics. Thanks for the suggestion Nahm, I'll do just that .   9. @John Iverson As you've guessed I have no experience with LSD but if it was me I'd have a zero expectations mindset, accept whatever it is that occurs with no judgement and remain completely open.   10. @Arkandeus Thanks for your response. I have done psychedelics in the past but I was 15 (I'm 27 now). Took them in a very calm controlled environment around the right people, wasn't for recreational purposes either. Unfortunately I really don't like weed, I don't like the effects it gives me, increased appetite being the main one. I was actually thinking about microdosing to begin with to start to build a relation with psychedelics like you've suggested. I plan to do them completely on my own.
  11. Morning all... Have a few questions I was hoping you may be able to answer I'm seriously contemplating using psychedelics as a tool to expand growth. My questions are... LSD or mushrooms? How do you know you've bought legitimate psychedelics? (Weary of the drugs being mixed with other substances). How long are you out of action for? (With regards to responsibilities). Is there prep to be done before hand? Sorry for my newbie questions I want to make sure I approach my trip with maturity. Any other relevant information you'd like to add would be helpful. Thanks so muchly. ?
  12. @Leo Gura I'm really not good with words but I'll try and explain... I'll use myself as an example, in the past I've let emotions run my life, I've reacted based on how my emotions feel or the thoughts that arise but to present, if something or someone say tries to offend me or I'm in a stressful situation I remain present af and conscious of how my emotions FEEL and the thoughts that arise. It's like there's a distance, like I'm watching myself.

I'm really interested in going down the route of exploring the nature of thought and how it links to identity etc I believe that could break down a lot for me. Would you recommend any sources? Books?   17. @Nahm So the homeostasis perseption myself and @AlexBis experiencing is a misunderstanding of something we've experienced/observed in the past. I've been sat here contemplating this for almost an hour trying to figure out what the misunderstanding could possibly be. With regards to the being cut off example you gave, I totally understand that now. As a matter of fact I've grasped what you said so deeply I feel it's altered and shifted something within. A deeper/broader understanding seems to have taken place. Thank you ♥️ With regards to myself resonating to what Alex explained in his OP for myself my monkey mind has kicked in tenfolds and being present and aware has backslided a little and become extra tough. Thank you for your patience with me Nahm as always.
  18. How would I feel if someone cuts me off? Are you referring to how aware I am of my reactions and understanding of other? If so yes, my awareness kicks in when I feel any type of 'trigger'. I hope I've grasped your point ?

  21. ?? @okulele I'm no expert but methods I use in everyday life are... Example: When I talk to people, I fully concentrate on what they are saying, this helps me remain present and stay out of my own mind (Takes practice and patience). Walking around? Listen to the sounds around you... Bird song, cars passing, whatever it is listen. You could also bring the awareness to the pressure of each foot hitting the ground as you walk. Brushing teeth? Feel the texture of the toothbrush in your hand, the taste of the toothpaste, the sound of the activity. This goes for ANYTHING mundane, even having a shit.
