  1. Where it becomes really counter-productive is when you place restrictions on what you can or can't think or feel - eg 'a spiritual person doesn't get angry', say, and then you simply deny the anger that exists within you. That sort of thinking doesn't lead to spiritual liberation, it leads to emotional repression. A true spirituality places no such conditions on life. That doesn't mean that you can behave however the hell you want based on how you're feeling - we still have to behave responsibly, obviously, or else we simply create problems for ourselves and others further down the road. It simply means that you stop trying to make life conform to your preconceptions.
  2. @Regan So funny you mentioned the prodigal son, I referenced that parable just before (slightly different context, mind, I was talking about the footballer Cristiano Ronaldo going back to Manchester United ).
  3. It's a beautiful thing, dear Preety
  4. @Marcel You behaved as you only could have done given the circumstances, my friend - you were simply hurting, that's all.
  5. @lxlichael Nice
  6. I know, how great is that?
  7. @Charlotte You're so welcome
  8. And you know that for a fact, do you? I mean sure, that's a possibility, but don't state it as a fact when it's just your belief.
  9. I haven't experienced this specifically, but I have noticed weird phenomena at times - like dark blips or vortices in my peripheral vision, one time I remember seeing numerous tadpole-like shapes. Never quite sure what to make of it, wondering if it signifies some sort of spiritual phenomenon or if I'm just having a stroke. I was thinking about this just the other day, wasn't this when you said to hands, 'Why are you scaring the shit out of me?', and they replied something like, 'It's because we love you'? Don't know what made me think about it but it made me laugh
  10. A point I heard in a Teal Swan video recently (this one, for reference) is that we can very easily take for granted the things we do well, because they come so easily and naturally to us - I think there's so much truth in that. Sometimes it's easier for other people to see our strengths
  11. Fuck, I think that might just be the hottest thing I've seen all year
  12. That's the cutest thing ever
  13. @Gianna The universe has a lovely sense of timing sometimes, doesn't it? Enjoy the rest of your weekend too, lovely
  14. @Gianna And that, my darling soul sister, is why I love you
  15. I'm so, so sorry you had to go through this ordeal, Charlotte, that must have been so horribly frightening and upsetting for you I love you, my darling.
  16. It's not something you can really force, either you do or you don't feel love for everyone and everything. And if you can't, that's all right too - I mean, fuck, that's you and practically everyone else on the planet. But if you can't, can you accept that you can't? Can you accept whatever you happen to be feeling right now, in this moment, even if it's irritation, or anger, or hatred, or anything else other than love?
  17. @Marcel Well, you certainly sound wise to me, my friend
  18. You might find this thread of use :
  19. @Marcel Interesting, thank you!
  20. Ah man, I told myself I'd limit myself to one song a day, but this one's just come on and I have to share it - David Gilmour's guitar-playing speaks to my soul like no other, and I just love his voice, too:
  21. @Marcel You're wise beyond your years, my friend - I love you, bro
  22. Very interesting, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the subject! The colour yellow makes me think of the solar plexus chakra, though I'm weird like that
