  1. Of course. . . Notice how you said "whether the concept of karma is true or not". This sets up a duality in which karma must be "true or false". The mind is conditioned to see in opposites and believes a "thing" like karma must be either "true" or "false". Yet it gets much more nuanced. Karma can have aspects of truth and falsity. Karma/reincarnation can be both true and false. . . As well, there are many ways that we can define karma and reincarnation. By holding a view that karma/reincarnation must be either true or false forces the mind into fully accepting or fully rejecting karma / reincarnation. This will prevent a mind from expanding and exploring nuances. I agree with you that there are stories of karma / reincarnation that egos use to rationalize their own devilish behavior. Yet this is true for everything - the ego will use stories of science, psychology, god, the weather, history etc. to further it's own selfish agenda. This gets into the relativity of meaning. All meaning is relative. Assigning meaning can provide grounding for a person and it can be helpful for the person to survive and live a healthy life. Yet at a deeper existential level, meaning is relative. The duality between meaning vs. meaningless breaks down. Meaning = Meaningless. . . This can seem very groundless to a person and cause distress - yet it is also liberating and beautiful.
  2. 4-Aco-dmt is very similar to mushrooms. It's a great psychedelic for beginners. I would start off with a relatively low dose like 10-15mg to test your sensitivity - it will also be easier to integrate insights. For newbies, it is generally better to be underwhelmed than overwhelmed. If you want to explore psychedelics, the most important thing is to actually get started in a safe, responsible manner. 4-aco-dmt is a good starter psychedelic at a low/medium dose.
  3. @WisdomSeeker There are many different ways to look at this is a relative context. The tendency is to try and find the one relative story that is objectively true. Imo, this will lead to a lot of confusion. If we look from different perspectives, contradictory stories will arise and there will be paradoxes. This used to frustrate me and I'd throw up my hands and say "Well, they both can't be true. Which story is true?". Yet as dualities dissolve, there is an ok-ness with contradiction and paradox. The frustration of paradox becomes beautiful freedom. One perspective to your question is the perspective of reincarnation and karma. Perhaps the people that are living in servitude and religious dogma are living out karmic pasts. Perhaps their purpose in this lifetime is not to fully awaken, yet rather to work through some karma such that in the next lifetime the being has a better chance of fully awakening. It is sorrowful that a person is living in such a negative karmic state and it is also beautiful that this being is so loving that they are working through this karmic resistance to pass on purer karmic energy to the future life. . . This is just one perspective. Perhaps it has some truth to it. Some beings might resonate with this perspective and explore it further. Other beings will not resonate with this perspective and will dismiss it.
  4. The perfect gift for that hard-to-shop-for loved one that is part M.I.T. scientist, part country fair hippy and part nondual brahman.
  5. @Nak Khid Wow, he really is integral. He is integrating physics with crystals. . . and lucky us . . . he happens to have a gift shop! ?
  6. If someone is genuinely ready for nonduality, I would recommend a psychedelic. It has a very high probability of inducing a direct nondual experience and will teach them more about nonduality in 6 hours than you could in 6 months. Imagine going back in time 300 years and trying to explain electricity to someone. One approach is to spend months trying to explain it through concepts and having them self inquire “what is electricity?”. Another approach is to turn on a lightbulb and stick their finger in an electrical outlet.
  7. Why surrender an absolute for a relative? Absolute includes both relative opposites. Calling absolute Truth “not truth” is misleading. Absolute Truth cannot get reduced to the opposite of a relative because it is absolute. Absolute Truth is both “truth” and “not truth”. Self is both “self” and “not self”.
  8. I would first explore "what is existence?". I would start here, because if one does not have an understanding of existence, then asking "why does existence exist?" becomes counter-productive. For example, if I ask "why does druvqid exist?", I could spend years wasting time before realizing "What a minute. . . what the heck is druvqid?".
  9. Citing theory from others is good, yet I would also use your own direct experiences as well - you understand these reasons better and it will come across as genuine. . . . In your own experience, what makes learning about consciousness harder than anything else? Ime, some of the difficulties I've faced learning about consciousness are: 1) Paradoxes. Once I started learning about consciousness paradoxes arose. Something could be both true and false. Something could be partially true and partially false. Stuff like: "Form = Formless", "The journey is the destination", "There is experience yet no experiencer". These types of lessons were very difficult to wrap my mind around. 2) Post-intellectual learning. How can I learn about something that is ineffable? 3) Transcending my current level of consciousness. Imagine being a character in one of your dreams. Let's call him "John". So. . . within the dream, John is doing a school project on dreams and is researching dreams. He goes on internet forums, reads lots of books etc. - this is all within the dream. For John to rise up a conscious level, YOU would need to wake up and realize John was just a dream character. This is extraordinarily difficult for John to do. Some say it is impossible for John to do. That's how hard it is. Nearly impossible. 4) Learning about something less than my level of consciousness is relatively easy. For example, learning about childhood development. I can imagine being a child and the process of developing self awareness and cognitive abilities. It is much harder to learn about higher conscious levels. A dog would have a very difficult time learning about childhood development. 5) There is no mind state that is altered. 6) Working through insanity zones.
  10. @jj40 Observe attachment/identification. Every true thing is also false. Every meaningful thing is also meaningless. This awareness free because there is no owner and nothing to own.
  11. @cetus56 I just went for a hike through nature and nature became the brain. i was like a molecule walking through My Big Brain. It started off as imagination and then became real. Fun stuff.
  12. Yes! He also reminded me of social fields of consciousness and the “big brain”. We are all neurotransmitters to each other in a big brain.
  13. @Nak Khid Nice. ?? He offers an approach that would resonate with people that are more scientifically / logically inclined.
  14. @Anton Rogachevski By “awareness”, I mean awareness relative to Americans that are ignorant. For decades in the US, any criticism of isreal by politicians or media was seen as anti-semetic and un-Anerican and they would face a strong backlash. So a lot of Americans are unaware there is right and wrong on each side. For example, my parents think Palestine is a terrorist group like ISIS that kills innocent people.
  15. Nice video. It’s like a macro-level of quantum physics. I like his description of time = memory and that memory is not within the brain. . . I also liked when he told a questioner “You are making a distinction between you and consciousness”. . . . We can explore reality by going “inward” and “outward”. @Peo There is more space in science for this type of work and it continues to grow. Part of being on the forefront of progress is facing resistance and ridicule by those that want to maintain the status quo.
  16. Yes, it’s pretty much indistinguishable. There have been some psychonauts online that did blind tests and my impressions were any differences are very minor. The only one that seemed somewhat consistent is that 1p-lsd trips can be shorter, which is often the case fo me. My 1p-lsd trips are about 4-6 hours long. Which I prefer. 8-10 hours is a bit too long fir my mind and body.
  17. Ime, lack of trust is corrosive. If someone is untrustworthy, I won’t date them. It never turns out well ime.
  18. Because of genetics and conditioning. Your body has evolved to survive. You wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t. This survival desire gets reinforced into children through messages such as the importance to get a job, a home, having children etc. Yet on top of that is an additional self that is created and all sorts of extra add-ons are conditioned into children: what is right and wrong, what is good and bad, respectful and disrespectful, purpose in life, what is success, what has value . . . and on and on and on. It can take a while to de-condition all of that programming. I’ve found it helpful to introspect all of that, engage in practices that allow release and practices that re-condition the mind-body to be Here and Now, with whatever is happening Now.
  19. Actually, it’s not so simple. A candidate can win the majority of states and lose the election. For example, they could win 30 of 50 states and lose. The electoral college is based on the population size of each state, not the number of states won. The problem with the electoral college is that it is disproportional. For example a person in Wyoming has 3X the voting power of a person in California. Imagine you get to vote once and I get to vote three times. Does that seem fair to you? In a true democracy, each person only gets allowed to vote once. A tomato farmer that lives in Truckee gets to vote once. A tomato farmer in the next town over gets to vote twice. That’s not fair. This was true in 1776, not 2019. They chance of a state succeeding from the union is extremely low, especially small population state’s like Wyoming and Delaware. It’s not going to happen. The electoral college now has a polarizing effect because unpopular politicians that lose the popular vote win through a loophole. This is not democracy. In a democracy, everyone gets one vote and whoever wins the most votes, wins the election. It’s that simple.
  20. Haha yes. It’s like saying “A trip to the planet Xenon isn’t so bad. The zidnuvs and fluglins could actually help me”. Sneaky squirrel
  21. I love those moments in nature. The flower, butterfly and bee are the most beautiful creation. So beautiful it seems impossible. . . . Sometimes I lose sense of myself and time such that there is simply the beauty.
  22. @Bno It’s not just Mueller. It’s that all the experts agree on interference. There is collective agreement among the expert community that carries a lot of weight for me. In this area, I’m more interested in the structure of how the situation is perceived and how meaning is created. I’m not so interested in engaging in the content of the situation. You seem more interested in discussing/debating content, which is fine. It looks like several others on the forum want to engage on content. So I’ll step aside. Nice chatting with you.
  23. @Frankie10 It’s funny you say that. When I started feeling different, I also started resonating with nature differently. I’ve always liked nature, yet I was usually in my own head while in nature. Then something shifted, I related with nature in a new way and was sensitive to things I hadn’t noticed before. For example, I was in nature one time and realized I was within an enlightened master. I’ve resonated well with psychedelics and many of the deepest insights in some way related to a trip. Almost like doors to synchronicity open. I may be walking in nature and an insight appears and I’m like “whoa, that’s trippy cool”. It’s like I’m more sensitive or open now. Even when sober, I often feel like I’m on a low dose of a psychedelic, and I haven’t used them for a while. . . I also like being with people that are kinda “out there”. They often have an “it” that reveals something.
