  1. @starsofclay@starsofclay oh my God I give up stupid phone bug
  2. Hmm hard to say... I used to use them, and had several neat experiences especially once I get into theta waves, but now that I've decided to take mediation seriously, I'm doing it "clean". I don't think there's anything wrong with them, although there's always the possibility you can hard-wire your brain to need them in order to get into that state. Best to go "clean" and just use them every now and then to go deeper.
  3. Yeah, I've often wondered if I'd had a child if I would try to teach them things like this as early as possible. They understand more at that age than they let on, especially if you word it right. that was cool good job!
  4. @Neo haha, true, I see what you are saying..
  5. @Neo hmm well if I live in france, get a citizenship, and speak french words all day, then I'll be a french person
  6. @Monkey-man I think there should be more sub-forums... one for general talk where we can goof off, and keep the SA and enlightenment ones more serious. I also would love one only for dreaming
  7. @Andre Quinonez If you clone yourself, and then have sex with the clone, is it incest, or just masturbation?
  8. Well there are some people on here that I sometimes wonder if they ever sleep... I'm a little addicted... I think I do get some dopamine release when I check the forum and someone has responded on a thread that I have responded on... however it has gotten better after my notifications thing stopped working.... is that just me or did they turn that off? However, it is a great motivational tool, seeing everyone's stories and struggles, and holding oneself accountable for all of the things we post on here.
  9. isn't he technically older now in current videos than in the earlier ones?? Or did we do a time warp
  10. The clicking noises? What effect did clearing the blocks have? How did you do it?
  11. One thing you should remember is that whether it's a dream or waking life, all experiences are real, and have happened. So if you had a night full of blissful dreams, that's 8 hours of being in that state, (of course you aren't dreaming the whole time). What you are wanting is to experience this feeling all day... that's going to take a lot of work rewiring your brain and self development, which I'm sure you know. Also the whole fake it till you make it thing works. When you wake up from one of those dreams, recall the feeling of blissfulness and force it upon yourself throughout the day. Force a smile, which helps sends bliss chemicals to your brain. To answer your question, it is most likely this way a lot in your dreams because it doesn't surface enough in your walking life. Dreams are a reflection of your psyche, but also express things that are suppressed during the day. It almost seems that the hardwiring of the mind that we deal with in waking life is completely bypassed in dreams, allowing us to experience heightened emotions, and even sometimes be a completely different person, forgetting who we are in waking life. That kind of thing has always fascinated me, the false memories that can get implanted in the little pocket universe that is a dream.
  12. Has anyone tried out the muse headband? If you don't know anything about it, this review is pretty comprehensive. I hope you read it before passing any judgement on the device... https://medium.com/pixeldreams/my-40-day-journey-into-meditation-with-muse-the-brain-sensing-headband-12e7b060c6fa Just wondering if anyone on here has tried it and could give feedback, Thanks
  13. @Nahm I'm sure it's true, but that would require me to focus... I'm working on it..
  14. @Seed you can meditate to it, either ignoring it and letting it come in subliminally, or listening, repeating in head or out loud, or visualize yourself agreeing with the statements being made. Can be listened to at anytime, and they even make ones that are 8 hour tracks with sleeping music to listen to while sleeping.
  15. (my phone won't erase the quote box) This thread has ego-hell written all over it.
  16. @Nahm will that's the thing, I have no idea if it's accurate or not, but it doesn't bother me. It taught me to sit, partially because of the gamification of meditation. I do think it's pretty accurate though because there are third party apps you can get to use the headband as an eeg reader. (the actual muse app only gives real time response whether you have dipped into alpha or theta waves, but no raw data) I'm now up to sitting for 20 minutes. That's crazy to me. I wouldn't say it's a quality 20 minutes, but at least I'm sitting. Not sure if I should force myself to increase the time because my mind doesn't have time to shut up in 20 minutes, or if I should stay at 20 until it's easier to sit that long...
  17. Do you use affirmations? You could use one for nervousness, confidence, etc. Here's one I found that sounds pretty good :
  18. @Charlotte It can get hard to balance sometimes, huh? @Rachityczny I'm so so with visualisations, as far as ability goes... Just one of the many things I'm trying to improve, but I usually forget to practice anyway. One day I'll get my act together and make an improvement plan with a daily calendar and binder and the whole nine yards... One day... But I will say that whenever I do use it, for example when I wake up before work and visualize having a good day, it seems to be very effective. I will say I've found, as someone who was basically in aphantasia when I started, it is much easier to do with a bit of Marijuana, or drug free right when you wake up and are still groggy. Anyway, keep us updated on your progress!
  19. Mine's the 1985 model... It has its issues, but it gets me around alright
