  1. Habits A system for making habits is essential to your growth. Without any consistency you won't go far, that's why I need a system. At the core of my system are the 3 aspects the book entails: Knowledge (what to, why to), Skill (how to), Desire (want to). Before creating a effective habit I must cultivate these three things. The hardest aspect here is desire, a lot of times we know we shouldn't be doing something but we still do it. I think that's were awareness comes into play. When you are completely aware of something while you do it than if it's bad your body will automatically not have the desire. But if you are on autopilot you will just follow your lower desires and do the things your higher-self doesn't want. Trigger, Action, Reward From a book I listened to a while back I know that habits also consist of: a trigger, a action and a reward. I can also incorporate this to make extra strong habits. So I can hard-wire the habits into my brain. Connecting The Dots ... I need to create a system to act upon these rules of habits. See the next post >>> - The Dude
  2. Inside-Out Living from the inside-out is something not a lot of people do. But it is essential for long-term growth. There is never a solution on the outside, you may think there is but when you finally have it you'r just as sad or broken as you was before. Maps And Territory's This is where I introduce the maps back in the game. Maps are only maps, they are not the territory. A map of a city is not the city itself, when you have the map of New York and try to use it when you'r in LA it won't work. The maps in your mind are the same, they are interpretations of reality not reality itself. When you have a problem in reality it stems from a problem in your map. To change your map you have to create a aha! moment. (Spoken about in the previous post.) Connecting The Dots ... I need to make a system for changing habits. So I can create different view's of the problem and evolve over the problem. I will be working on this in the future. - The Dude
  3. Maps And Paradigms paradigms are your "maps" the way you see reality. You act on these maps. when you try to change your behaviours without changing you map you will experience a "frame snapback". Because every time you do someting that is not aligned with your map the behavior will not stick. you do the action but deep inside you'r like no you dont do that. The Aha! A aha! moment is the experience of a change in your map. You suddenly see a aspect of life in a different way. When you have this change in seeing the world and you stay conscious and keep it. It will slowly seep into your unconscious, and your actions will slowly change. Leo At Play The last video from Leo is very interesting because you self generate aha! moments. if you shine your awareness long enough on a aspect you get a better map. you get closer and closer to reality. Then at some point you get a aha moment and your behaviour follows. This needs openmidedness and contiousness. Connecting The Dots ... Hahahaha, I clearly got the wrong map here. Maybe I should try to see through my mothers eye. Try to understand why she does what she does. Emphasize more and communicate contentious with what she is trying to achieve and how I interpret it. - The Dude
  4. The Introduction Of Highly Effective People The book I will be internalizing in the coming months is: The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People, by Stephen R. Covey. For the remainder of this month I am talking about the introduction of this book. There are several big concepts that are covered here. I will dive deep and apply them to my own life. Character vs Strategies = Foundation vs Building The first big concept introduced in the book is character building. This is a very interesting statement that I have found true in my own life. I always wanted to be a "cool guy". So I tried to show every body that I had humor and value but while doing this my character was flawed. In the long run I did not get good result, they saw that I just wanted to be cool and as a result they just made fun of me. You can not fake something endlessly, it's only a matter of time before they see the real you. So tactics and strategies can work and are very important but these are only secondary. They can work in the short term, but without a good foundation they are of little use. You Reap What You Sow This is a law of nature, without the sowing you can't reap. With the mastery process you can take shortcut's but this will not result in success in the long-term. You will backslide and it will do more harm than good. Someone with a good character but bad skills does not reap the full benefit. But the effects are still secondary. Keep this in mind: building on a weak foundation is like watering plants that aren't even sown. You put in the time and effort but in the long run you don't get results. Connecting The Dots ... The application in my life will be the relationship with my mother. By concentrating on the things that I can do for her I will improve the relationship. The knowledge I will use for this change is some principles from the book The Way Of The Superior Man. (I currently think my mom is annoying and beggy.) -The Dude
  5. Life purpse is a job, it's a next level career with impact statement. You can't earn money and only do the things you like to do there are always annoying tasks involved. Some people like their jobs some don't there are certain factors that determine if a job is likeable that is: First of all focus on what you can give, not what you can get out of your work. (Like will i be happy, will this fullfill me, is this my passion. NO! passion will come after you mastered a certain skill and give massive value) Get a lot of control, so work for yourself make your own schedule. Get a certain skill and go mastery mode on it, this will bring you in flow state. The better you get the more fullfilling it becomes. If you want more information on Life Purpose get leo's course. A good book on this subject is So Good They Can't Ignore You. (In this post I am all anti-passion but there is a balance ofcourse. I just wrote it like this to swing your pendulum to the other side. )
  6. Sorry you must think for your self by analising the situation. I can say this your life purpose should ideally be aligned with your values. You can also try to find diffrent ways of persuing your life purpose.
  7. You could set-up a morning routine and add some habits from there. I would reccomend reading, meditation. Then look at your life and see the aspects where you really suck work on it. Use the latest video from leo.
  8. Just read the book: "So good they can't ignore you" Its all about the passion myth.
  9. Asana https://app.asana.com/ I just have it start up as my first page when I open my browser. First I made the catagories of my goals and to do's and then I have a today catagorie where I drag the things in that I need to do today.
  10. I was watching leo's new video (27 Qualities Of All Successful People). Now I stand before a paradox, manifesting the 27 qualities or resolving my knowledge graph. Also Leo talks about reading a lot of books so you get a lot of wisdom, but isn't this futher building up on your knowledge graph. These are the Qualities I think are not helping me toward enlightenment: - Abnormally hardworking - Manipulative - Desire to be the best - Opinionated Does anyone have some advice for resolving this paradox or is it one or the other. And does someone have advice for the balance of enlightenment work and succes in your carreer.
  11. As for you you created a ego too judging other people and thinking enlightened people are nice. Now you can give a nice answer that means that your enlightened to a little degree too.
  12. I find assertiveness very weird in some cases because it is not good to judge you have to be openminded right? So how than can you be assertive if a beliefsystem is just all fake made up rules? Should you be assertive in to not judge anyone? But that is just further building on your belief system and you have to destroy it right? A lot of questions I still have to figure out. I now try to assert my self by just self-amuzing and letting people see that the world is stupid and weird.
  13. what's up! So for a long time I tried to wake up on time but I find it really hard. I was wondering if you had any tips for waking up on time (or maby even earlier). I do have two alarm clock's but I don't seem to have any willpower when I wake up. peace
  14. The point I see in small talk is having fun and just giving zero fucks. @stalker the next line I would say is: But what if he is silent? : So do you like towels or do you use a hairdryer? *and just laugh myself* Or asks What's the point? : I wanted to see if I was the only one that forgets to do that... maby i'm just special. How to develop this topic? : I think I'm getting old I'm forgetting things. Do you have the same thing? How to come up with these? : practice, I would say but I don't have an alternative
  15. Hahaha I love the people that say: "These videos are too long! *Closes the screen and starts gaming* " LOL. Yhea every video that Leo makes is a deep topic on its own to really het the full thing you have to watch the video's make notes do that a couple of times and find resources that talk about the same topic and research those too. The thing is there are not a lot of resources for the deep stuff and a lot of the times you just need to do the work yourself. Like with meditation you need to make the contious traction or other wise it will not stick.
  16. I love YouTube and I always procrastinate on there so I used this siteblocker to disable YT and other distractions: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/block-site/eiimnmioipafcokbfikbljfdeojpcgbh ATTENTION: this app is for google chrome! I hope you can achieve your goals once you install this neat litte app, I highly reccomend google chrome too. Once you get the layout it is very simple and nice to use. Y
  17. The ting is most of the time I wonder off not knowing that I'm procratinating when I use this I know ! Ho I'm procrastinating again !. What I now do is when I need to work I set a timer for 25 minutes and then 5 min break that way I can stay way more concentrated then before.
  18. what is emotionally the hard thing to do? I told my parents that I was meditating for 30 minutes every day but they were not schocked their response was: "Ya gotta do what you gotta do." My parents are quite openminded so that is why they responded like that. And overall I tell my friends that I read a lot of books on the self-help subject but never had a longer conversation about it.
  19. There are a lot of ways to make and break habits some good things to do when creating one is: Align every personality you got to the habit, when you want to try to eat good you make the habit in a "high personality type" one in wich you want to better yourself but when you go to a "low personality type" one in wich you just want to chill you have different beliefs. So you need to say somting like this: "When I eat good I feel better so I can chill better". This one is just made up and is not that strong but think about your different personalitys A habit consist of a trigger, an action and a reward. When you remove the trigger the bad habit will not happen. So when you eat a lot af donuts you will be triggerd by seeing the donuts and you will feel a strong urge to eat one. When you remove the donut you will not have to use your willpower to fight the urge. You can switch your trigger. You can keep the trigger but swap it with another action. Leo has a vid about it too:
  20. I have been meditating too for the last year quite consistently. When I first started I was all fired up and could really concentrate for 20 minutes but as it became a habit I did not pay that much attention anymore after a while I realised this and I couldn't figure out how to get my concentration back. So I tried the Do Nothing method but it didn't help very much because I could not get ahold of my thoughtstream. But last night I did a 30 minute meditation sesh and I really focused on what I was thinking and it worked I got into a meditative state. Then I used the tenique that Leo used in this video: Then I got some revalations it was really amazing. So that is how I resolved the third type of resistance. Y

  22. @clytaemnestra I had that too a couple months ago try this: When you go to sleep just focus in on your breath and when you do it for a couple of minutes your mind will clear than just keep focusing on your breath untill you sleep. This trick helped me loads.
  23. What's up! When I discovered meditation I did it I just flipped the swich and did it because I saw all the benefits. Mainly I thought it would help me with overthinking things. Now one year later after I meditated every day for 20 minutes before I go to bed (and yes I skipped like 15 days in one year but lets not talk about that:). ) I still overthink a lot espicially in social interactions and business. This for my business it means that a lot of the time I spend my time thinking instead of doing and with social interactions I feel disatisfied. I know that it is not good that I think overthinking is a problem and this just makes it a problem but, Does anyone do the same or does anyone have any tips for me, do i need to meditate more or is that not the thing? Thanks in advanced peace Y
  24. I already watched the video but didn't use the technique. I will watch it again and use it thanks
  25. I figured that out already, from time to time I have long streches where I feel very present but a lot of the times I forget and judge my overthinking. I shouldn't judge it I should be mindfull of it but let it flow I think..
