  2. raising your consciousness
  3. This seems a pretty flawless thought experiment to design and govern a society. I remember Leo using this example in his conscious politics multi part series. The only critique i would have of it is that it doesn't take into account historical context. If you don't know about how black people have historically had a disadvantage for example then you would be ignorant of how to design a society fairly. It doesn't take into account certain disadvantaged groups who would need more aid within the society.
  4. Could it be possible that people go on a self development journey because of the way society currently is. The majority of people are so disconnected from having any meaning in their life and disconnected from others that we need to pursue something to give us meaning? It seems like self actualisation is an obvious meaning maker. If I lived in multi-generation communities where we were all connected to each other and had a purpose to help out our community in whatever way i'm sure I wouldn't be so focussed on self development and would be content with what I already have and the journey I was on. However because people feel more and more disconnected from others, themselves and nature I feel they need something like this to strive for. What are peoples thoughts on this?
  5. If I’m thinking something negative about someone what is the likelihood that they are also thinking negatively about me? If I let go of my negative thoughts about someone else does this mean they also let go? I know many will answer in the absolute term I am them and they are me but I am talking in the relative sense. If I do loving kindness meditation and send out positive thoughts of wellbeing to someone what are the chances that these thoughts will actually make a difference to that person or is the general idea that by sending out loving warmth to another person it is giving more love to yourself.
  6. Wouldn't that make Mate more stage yellow if he understands Trumps behaviour from a compassionate and empathetic perspective without being judgemental?
  7. Russell Brand and Candace Owens have a very rational debate about capitalism and socialism. Many great points are made here.
  8. I've been listening to a lot of Schmachtenberger's stuff lately he really is an incredible thinker.
  9. I rate Daniel Schmachtenberger very highly as a critical thinker.
  10. Yea its true he does have the biggest platform on the internet and it's wise to use it responsibly.
  11. In that case Joe could introduce him to his sensory deprivation tanks, smoke some DMT with him and then get him on his show rather than ostracising him.
  12. In that case how do you deal with convicted felons? A loving approach is to forgive and give a second chance right? I like the way Norwegians handle serial killers giving them a chance for redemption and not vilifying them. If they lied before and you never trust them again surely they would just be locked up forever or even be given the death penalty.
  13. It's worth watching all 31 episodes, each episode reflecting on what we can do about the meaning crisis - defined as a disconnect from the world, ourselves and the future. The problems being deeply historical, cultural and cognitive problems. Looking at past figures who have spoken in ways that provide the resources we need to tackle this problem.
  14. This is an absolute gold mine
  15. I just got back into Kriya seriously after a bit of a break. During navi kriya i felt my base chakra more than normal and felt like it was opening up. During Kriya Pranyama i managed to feel deep levels of relaxation and calm. After that i started concentration and i felt sicky feeling in my gut. I stayed unreactive to this and started to feel worse to the point where my body was shaking and had a gag reflex followed by my back tensing up immensely. This meditation is ridiculously powerful and wonder if anyone else has experienced anything similar and can breakdown what is going on.
  16. Sorry for the clickbait title. So what would I say to Trump if I met him? It would be very hard not to moralise telling him what he's doing wrong and what he should do. However it seems clear people have to figure things out themselves. I don’t think telling people like Trump what they should do would help. They are so stuck in their paradigms, I would give them my perspective, let them think about it. If I tell him his pitfalls and force the change on to him this will most likely have the reverse effect, making him more defensive, and more stuck to their way of thinking. I think ppl have to figure things out themselves through trial and error and the problem when they have constant errors and no change then what do we do? They need outside help. After watching Leo’s “A rant against Morality” video and then his conscious politics video it seems to me there is a slight contradiction. Moralizing has an aire of superiority (i'm right and you're wrong). Morality is a human invention, we are making up the rules as we go along, what is right and wrong, its do as you like in the animal kingdom, whats right now might be completely wrong in 100 years. However even though it is a human invention it’s a necessary one. Animals don't have the power to destroy the whole planet, they don't have the degree of variety in their behaviour that we have. In Leo’s politics video he talks about freedom and true freedom being rules - if you want freedom like the animal kingdom then it wouldn’t be free (well it would but not in the way you would like it to be). So I therefore feel a sense of what is right and wrong is necessary in order to create a system that can be governed and have an equal chance for all. To do this societies and govenments must then surely moralise as to what is and isn’t right?
  17. What are some good sources of conscious independent news? I currently read the guardian and feel this is a good source but i would like some more options.
  18. What questions could you ask a person you have never met to quickly assess their level of consciousness? I am in the process of looking for a new girlfriend. My last girlfriend had a lot of devilry and would like someone who has worked through a lot of their devilry or is at least aware of it. I would like a set of questions that i could ask to separate the wheat from the chaff. I know it is possible to get a general idea based on how a person talks without asking these questions but i would like a more effective and efficient method. Much appreciated
  19. How judgemental I am, how loving i am to all, how much responsibility i can take, how much i can see other perspectives, how enthusiastic and passionate i am to the joy of life and living, how much i can let go, can i live in the moment, whats my level of mindfulness and state of content from moment to moment. However on a first date there generally are a lot of games being played and people can put on a false facade and therefore it would be nice to have some questions that could really penetrate the real person (pardon the pun) ?。
