Authenticity is expressing whatever wants to be expressed in you. You resist your authentic self's desires because you have an attachment to others seeing you a certain way - and that's the definition of a lie. In fact, if you were 100% authentic all the time, your ego would die.

I will be still answering from a Christian perspective. @egoless has opened my mind to a degree where I will be sure to repent when I will be brave and open-minded enough but I am still pretty much a "new ager" and a non-dualist now. These masters are spreading an ideology which was clearly created by Satan to control people (people with no selves are easily manipulated, moral nihilism pushes you to sin, equating yourself with God is the first lie told to humanity) thus they are evil. Notice that you used the term "denying his temptation". The true Christian resists sin and does not indulge in it. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." - James 4:7 I will leave that up to @egoless to answer. I am curious what does he think of the theory that Jesus was a Buddhist monk. There are multiple theories of what happened in the Garden. God gave angels free will because he knew that service and love not coming from free will is not genuine. Of course, with free will came the possibility of pushing God away - and that's what the devil did.

To respond to you from @egoless's perspective before he does - I have talked alot to him in DMs and I have researched the Christian perspective on "the New Age" alot: The devil wants you to clear your mind so he can enter easily (if you ever look up true Christian meditation, it is filling your mind with the word of God, not emptying it. Your rational mind is a gift from God and you mustn't throw it away.

The very desire that you don't want to suffer makes you suffer because that desire is an attachment to not suffering. No religion or philosophy will bring you happiness because your attachment to beliefs will make you suffer. The only thing that is gonna set you free is dissolving the ego in the light of Love and Consciousness. That being said, don't throw out the baby with the bath water. Buddhism - and any philosophy for that matter - hold(s) powerful truths and Buddhism may be more useful for you than other religion. Seek put multiple perspectives

@DoubleYou said it more clearly than I would have. Go into Spirituality 101 so deeply you see it's limitations. Your aim should be to grasp the fact that nothing but facing yourself experientially, on a deep level. Try to practice the Do Nothing technique more. If you really want to take it to the next level, trigger an uncomfortable feeling/thought before you do the technique - it has helped me alot. If you desire, contemplate thoughts deeper.

The only way to permanently get out of a feeling is to become conscious of and feel into that feeling as much as possible. Anything else is just running away from it. Instead of finding a way to escape from time drains - as it not real growth -, ask yourself these questions: Why am I procrastinating? Is procrastination inherent to Instagram itself? What is procrastination? BTW you can find PD / spiritual accounts on IG. If you have to find a middle ground, find these.

This summer, I did a retreat where I focused on following my authentic desires more than anything else. During those 6 days, I realized that getting in touch with one's body is getting in touch with one's emotions, desires, and intuition so I started to practice that. There are some tips and insights I have for you which I got from this practice: Stretch your body after waking up. The body tends to be rigid after sleep. Try to adjust the temperature of the water you shower with such that it doesn't numb nor leave the body with unnecessary suffering. Try to sleep with the least possible number of clothes on. Because being naked is taboo, society has disconnected us from our bodies. Try to develop awareness of your Heart. The Love and Awareness that destroys Resistance comes from it (in all of the dimensions). You can have an experience of Yin and Yang that way - the Heart taking in and nurturing Resistance is Yin, moving and purging it out of the body is Yang. All perceived problems start and end in the Body. Feel free to post your tips below! You can ignore this but your input would be appreciated @Solace
