@Dan502 @Hello from Russia Both of you are missing the point of what I’m trying to say here.. I’ve made it so clear and no one here is answering the question. @Hello from Russia If you read my previous posts I’m talking about higher degrees of manipulation here. What you’re saying just sounds like its been taken from Leo’s recent video on survival as if it were your own insight. To everyone else, nevermind. I’ve already figured out myself. Thanks for the help.
-
@CreamCat Its not a part in the video, that’s just my own statement.
-
Yeah have you seen Leo's video on "Mankind Is The Bullshitting Animal"? He goes in depth with this topic. Nobody wants to admit their flaws.
-
@Dan502 I'm not talking about myself, just asking a question. Steroids is an example of "extreme manipulation." I sort of already explained what I'm talking about in the thread. Simply put, "is over-committing yourself to acquire a result, setting yourself up for failure?" I'm sorry but I'm not sure how that's not clear. Let's say you wanted to achieve success in business, so you basically manipulate yourself or over-commit to working on this business for 80 hours a week. Over the long-run you're pretty much setting yourself up for failure. And this is one of the reasons why I'm asking this question. Is it a good idea to over-commit and work long hours to try to achieve success as fast as possible? Probably not. Or over-committing yourself to grow muscles, going to the gym for 5 hours a day, definitely will result in failure.
-
I mean heavy/extreme, or higher degrees of manipulation in this thread. With manipulation being survival, I can definitely see that we do it on a smaller scale, but heavy manipulation is unnecessary.
-
@Knock But that's not intentional. I'm talking about intentionally using manipulation to acquire a result.

@Leo Gura So why is an imagination so consistent for myself and for everyone else? Why couldn’t it be different each time I look at it? The city I live in looks exactly the same as it did 15 years ago when I was a kid. And thousands of other people are experiencing the same exact city? Would you say that its like a video game that has already been created? I personally think that makes more sense rather than it being imagined in the moment. There’s no changing the files, the game has already been created with a specific design, using specific programming, and the disc is already in the console. Good way to put it?

@RawJudah I don’t. I haven’t been re-visiting the life-purpose course notes or content lately but I plan to soon. Currently just working on an e-Commerce business to generate some income which will allow me to survive on my own and buils capital. Really depends on you and your situation. Me personally, I live off less than or around $500 a month living with parents. I have enough saved up to survive for under a year. Its really a good idea to stay frugal and not upgrade your car, your place, or anything else. In terms of finding your purpose, yes you can, it really depends on you. In my experience it can be easy to become lazy with a ton of free time. I found myself to be more productive while I was working at my 9-5, and working on my projects after 5 or on the weekends. Well why do you have that fear? How much would you need saved up until you feel safe enough to take time off? I recommend you watch Leo’s video called “Money Psychology.” He goes in depth with understanding your beliefs and fears about money.

I watched half the video, haven’t had any spiritual awakenings myself, but I’m completely open-minded to what is being said here. Although I have some questions. Probably shouldn’t ask because the obvious answer is, “experience it yourself.” But I’m asking anyway. If everything is just an imagination, then is the insight that everything is an imagination, also an imagination? If yes it is an imagination, then what makes it “truth”? Oh ok you can be conscious of it and directly experience it, right? Ok but direct experience varifies it, why isn’t materialism truth? We’re here experiencing it right? What makes spirituality a direct way of accessing the truth? How does a tiny spec of dust on a tiny Earth access the truth? There’s infinite numbers of unknown galaxies and planets that we do not know of, and what if there were aliens who access the truth differently? Maybe they have access to an unknown substance in their planet that is greater than 5-meo? Or maybe they can experience physical death literally and revive themselves and found truth that way. Isn’t evolution, enlightenment, growth, developing your consciousness just an imagination too? So why does experiencing an imagination, allow you to find the truth? Is the answer to that question, “truth is just another imagination”?

@Leo Gura I honestly just want to be financially free. Being “rich” sounds nice but financial freedom is the goal. $8K saved up right now, enough to live for a year or less, unemployed, and I really don’t feel like going back to a job at the moment. Took your life purpose course 5 years ago at 18, probably will take it again soon. I just was a complete idiot and continued to dabble into the most lucrative business ideas for 5 years now with nothing to show for today. I just didn’t know the “how-to.”
-
@Leo Gura 100% can agree. I definitely see that people succeed without all those extra habits. Although, wouldn’t it help to implement them? Because isn’t success just habits and consistency after all? Personally I think those habits of waking early, gym, etc. would help build your discipline, in order to follow through with your consistency. Or would you say that its their vision and their passion that motivates them to do what they do? What about the people who don’t work on their life purpose, but instead works on what is the most lucrative?

Life-long learners. They're constantly learning as much as they can on what they're trying to master. Although too much information without any action can set you back.

@universe Yup, me personally I just keep them in a box, put it in my closet and forget about them. Pop Funko figurines also have a seperate hard plastic case that you can buy and store them away so that they don’t get squashed. Some collectibles that I hold currently and ones I’m looking at are: - Pokemon, Yugi-oh, couple baseball cards - Pop Funkos - Star wars figurines - Gamecube games, SNES games - Old 90’s toys
-
Collectibles count? I love the idea of buying collectibles and watching the price increase over time as a speculative investment. Today I found out that 1-2 of my Pop Funko figurines I bought last year has doubled or tripled in price which is pretty cool. Plus some old toys and games I had growing up have increased in price as well, going to hold onto them. Cryptocurrencies you can add. Also stocks that payout dividends is one that I’m looking into.

@non_nothing story is you’re asking a question and answer is no its not scamming. In a lot of cases dishonesty yes, in order to drive sales. Question answered, end of thread.

The value you provide is the item/service you are selling. If there were no pianos on the market, then you would have to make your own. If no one is selling a house, then go make your own. If grocery stores don’t sell meat or whatever you’re looking for, then go hunt your own food. If no one is selling a car, then make your own. If it took someone $3 to make a T-Shirt and they’re selling it for $15, who cares you don’t have to buy it, go make your own. If someone is selling their financial planning services, you don’t have to buy it, figure your finances yourself. A scam is usually defined as an illegal way of acquiring money. Or an unlawful or unfair of making money. Trading is not illegal. What are you even trying to get at here? You want people to price their products at what they got it for? What’s the point of selling then anyway? If only one person in the entire world had access to a huge supply of blankets, and you can’t get them anywhere else, what’s the point of him trying to sell it if he can’t get anything out of it? Is he going to waste his time distributing free blankets to millions of people? If not, you’re probably saying “then he’s selfish.” Who cares you don’t have to buy it from him, go find your own way around it and make your own blanket.

Try starting small and limit yourself to them inch by inch so that your brain doesn’t notice it, if that makes any sense. For example, if you watch 4 hours of Youtube per day, shave off an hour for a week to 3 hours a day. Then next week do 2 hours a day, something like that. Because if you get rid of too many things all at once it will backfire on you and you’ll be in the same position that you were at before you got rid of those activities. Also whatever you resist, persists. If you keep resisting the urge to engage in those addictions, it will have the effect of creating an even stronger desire to have those bad habits back in place.

I can give a bit of my opinion on trading the Forex market. Been on and off learning about the Forex market and how to trade it with Technical Analysis for 3 years. Different from stocks but some similarities. Just like any market, the Forex market is often manipulated by the big banks. People with large sums of money are the ones who move the market, that’s basically how it works. If the majority of people expect the market to move upwards, the bigger players will move the market in the opposite direction. That way they can make money off the bullish investors. Although this doesn’t happen 100% of the time, sometimes they will give the players a chance to win so they keep coming back. With all of this being said though, that doesn’t mean there’s no way to make money in the market. If you take the time to understand what’s actually going on, take the time to prepare yourself psychologically, and to learn how to trade, you should be fine. And you can even learn to trade with the bigger players. They’re either bullish, bearish, or not in the market at all. In the FX market, its the most popular currency pairs that are often manipulated. If you trade the less popular pairs, there will be less market manipulation. Those are my thoughts, I’m pretty sure a lot of it is applicable to the stock market too.

There are petitions to stop 5g like https://www.change.org/p/leah-presley-stop-5g 12K+ people have signed it but I doubt that it's going to do anything. This is stage orange at work here, nothing is more important to them than making more money.

I honestly could say that I had a beautiful life in the past. Even though it seemed like the typical life of an American/Canadian kid, I feel so appreciative that I got to experience it all. What I'm talking about is growing up in the 90's in my closely-knit neighborhood with my family, doing what 90's kids do. Playing with Yugi-oh and Pokemon cards. Hanging out, biking, playing Super-Nintendo and the Gameboy color. Watching all the amazing cartoons, anime shows, and other TV shows. Eating all the junk food, pizza for dinner, ice-cream in the hot summer days. Going swimming at an aquatic center, playing arcade-games and watching movies on the big-screen right after. Even in elementary-school, it was just so fun going on all the field-trips, visiting places I would never think of going to. Such as bird-watching, water-parks, zoos, museums, camping, going to the beach, wow.. it was all just so incredible. Even though I was somewhat of a loner in school, I loved my past. In high-school I had a group of friends that I would just hangout with after school and just smoke weed all day. After high-school, I went through the typical young-adult phase of drinking and partying every weekend for months, meeting new people. And even that was amazing. Nowadays I really miss those times. Even though today I would say that I wouldn't engage in 90% of those activities anymore, I would still they were all great experiences. These days my life is made up of what the self-help and spiritual theory talks about. Do nothing, cut off the negative people, and minimize your life-style. Today I have no friends, I don't do a lot, I meditate, I gym, listen to self-help, and I don't connect with my family as much anymore. But why do all this? I don't feel as much joy in life as I used to, but I don't understand why. Maybe because I lost connection with my family and other people? I thought the meditation and self-help would make it all better? Sometimes I just doubt what the theory says. Why do I feel that all those lower-consciousness activities in the past has brought me so much excitement in life? And replacing it with these better habits hasn't made it any better? I'm probably just not where I need to be in my development. But I still don't understand it fully.

@Shiva Interesting, I will definitely try and take this approach to life from now on and compare how I feel now to after taking this approach. Currently I am focused on my finances and my fitness, but I dropped a lot of the relationships I had, and a lot of the activities I was doing. I'd say my current approach is more 50% focused on fitness and finances, and the other 50% is "spirituality". And by spirituality meaning, meditation, contemplation, minimizing activities, sitting in solitude and in nature. But what about Leo's video on lifestyle minimalism? He talks about minimizing your lifestyle and "do less". I took that approach and that's exactly what I'm questioning right now, and something that is bringing me some doubts. At the moment I can say that it hasn't brought me a lot of fulfillment or joy, although I can say that it definitely trains me to learn to let go of things.
-
@Rilles Hmm, its probably because the friends I were around seemed to be toxic. I probably just need to find higher-quality friends, but I've found that they're quite rare so I haven't been searching. And get your Mario Bros. 3 avatar out of here, its bringing back good old memories ): jk

@Shiva Yeah, being an adult sucks sometimes. I definitely listen to a lot of self-help. And funny thing is that, one of my new years resolutions was to slow down on the self-help theory and focus on my finances. I posted a thread that I was supposed to take a break from these forums, now I'm back. But the thing is that, while I was focusing on my financial success, all these issues related to life keep popping up so I keep having these questions.. It's not easy to ignore.

@Shin You're right, after reading your post I'm probably just letting the theory determine where my life has to go. Meditate because the theory says so, minimize your lifestyle because the theory said so, cut this activity off, and so on. But not to say that I haven't grown, I've definitely grown quite a bit over the years. I lost connection with family and friends because I felt that they were somewhat "negative" and bringing me down. I felt like they were just a distraction, and they don't share the same goals that I have. Hmm. You're probably right, I'm still 23 years old, I'll see how it is a couple years from now.
