I think I heard Arnold Schwarzenegger talk about this once too, what I want to talk about is mindful gym sessions. Saturday I tried this for the first time and not only did I feel very conscious and present at the end of my session, like I was in a meditative state, I also was able to lift heavier and have a longer gym session. When you observe the sensation of your muscles contracting and squeezing it does something amazing. I was able to spot my neurotic motivation during my lifts and notice any unease that arose. Not sure if this is a fact or not but I feel like if you put your awareness on the muscle that you are training it produces more results too, this is what I heard Arnold talk about once in his interviews. So I would say try this out! This could really boost your performance in a gym session and can be made into a practise of mindfulness too.

@Seeker_of_truth Alright I'm happy you found the cause of your sleepiness, a tip for if you still experience sleepiness at any point, is to look at how long the time was between your last meal and the meditation session. It is important (for me atleast) that one hour is imbetween my meal and meditationsession. If I don't do this, I experience heaviness of my stomach and I fall asleep very easily. Make sure that you don't get neurotic when you can't stay aware. Give yourself space and acceptance when you can't seem to focus during your practise Good luck with your sessions! -

I had a similar experience, I started to slack off simply because I was neuroticly motivated to meditate. You have to find a way to enjoy your meditations again if this is the case for you. I switched from the do noting technique to mindfulness. During this practise I started to learn that every experience is perfectly fine. So maybe try and find something that you enjoy, focus more on the training then the outcome -
I have been practising my concentration after I watched Leo's video 'Concentration vs Meditation'. Firstly I tried focussing on a metronome for 2 minutes 2 times a day. After 2 months of practising I did not find improvement at all. Now I started doing 3 times in a row 2 minutes and that 2 times a day (always do it before my meditations). Could it be that I simply cannot improve my concentration since I have ADD? I really would like to improve my concentration for how far it is possible for someone like me, but I don't know what I should differently here to eventually see results. @Shin I will try to stay disciplined and do this every day. Thanks for the response

@Afonso But can it improve though? Am I not stuck to this limit of never being able to concentrate amazingly? @Afonso I will try to put some 5 minutes or even 10 minutes in there. I'm not trying to look at the results of my practise so much because I learned that is not the right way. But on this practise it makes me kind of dissapointed because I feel like it will take me a lot of months to even notice the tiniest bit of growth. -

I've had this too myself. When your conscious rises, neurotic motivation tends to fade away. If you keep at it and keep growing yourself you will soon find that authentic motivation will enter into your life. No more "I need to gain more muscle because otherwise I look ugly, I have to this and that to be better". Just keep practising and you will get your motivation back! -

What are the things that will happen to you as the ego starts to crumble? What are the traps you can fall into? Also, how to identify attachments to meditative experiences, high consciousness , etc. And how to let go of them. -
I have noticed that during my meditation I become very easily attached to high conscious experiences. When I don't have such an experience during meditation my judging mind goes "This meditation sucked", "You did not grow thus this was a waste lf time". How can one learn to be okay with not always feeling comfortable? I am already aware that this is experience judging is happening, No clue though of how to be acceptive of this.

I've never tried being aware of how judgemental I am. That's an awesome suggestion, thank you. @Shin I keep wondering everytime, where does all your wisdom come from? So amazing. -

@Seeker_of_truth That's the thing. You stilll want it to dissappear like it's a bad thing. Completely own all your sensations including you sleepiness. You get sleepy because you get caught up in thought, you get caught up in thought because your are still working out how conscious works. Keep looking at thought and then ask yourself "Who is observing this thought?" This will create distance between your thoughts and your awareness. Over time you will improve at this and then you will naturaly become awake and alert. Just keep practising -
I have palpilations for quite some time now. Attached to these palpilations is a intense fear of my heart stopping. I had overcame this fear before but recently it came back. I stared working to change something about myself (not people pleasing anymore, letting go of some of the things I would early say are part of my identity) This is going quite good at the moment, I really feel myself improving at multiple parts of my life. I feel my awareness increasing and I feel a lot happier most of the time wheras a while ago I was very somber and depressed for the most part. Last evening I had an awesome meditation session and something weird happend during it. For like 20 seconds I complety forgot who I was. Everything felt very peaceful and quiet. After this had ended, an intense fear had come in it's place. This really got to me. The next morning it was still there and since then I have had the palpilations and fear of my heart stopping. I'm having a hard time dealing with this. Trying to accept and just embody it sometimes just increases the fear and then I feel really futile and scared that the palpilations increase. Is there anything else I can do that will help me see this as a challenge and overcome it? Regards, Max

If you just started meditating your conscious is still finding it's way to develop. There will be times when you get sleepy. I have had this a lot when I started too. For now, try to notice when you get sleepy. How the sensations feel and what kind of thoughts your mind is producing. As soon as you can accept the fact that you get sleepy, it may occur that the sleepiness just disappears. But don't make it into a goal to stay awake, that will only make you neurotic and frustrated when you fail. Good luck with your practise! -
@Barna Exactly. Finding a teacher that fits your own personality is important. I tend to listen to a variety of different teachers though, I like the way they explain things differently. Sometimes I can understand a certain topic better when another teacher explains it. I believe that one should try and catch a glimpse of all the amazing out perspectives there.

@Annetta Ty! I like Sadhguru a lot. The way he explains and looks at things just makes me very happy and hopeful towards my growth.

I did not know about these different ways to reach enlightenment. Thanks for sharing this, very helpful. Also what I did not quite get is the difference between an awakening experience and enlightenment. Could anyone elaborate on that?

This is quite interesting. Thanks for making my brain malfunction for a sec

Have recently had an experience of unresolved trauma's I had to deal with. It gave me palpilations and a fear that my heart was gonna stop. I started accepting and observing this fear. Now that I almost overcame this I have to say, it was all worth it. Keep at it and the fear will slowly transmute in a deep rooted peace.
